Canaan Baptist Church, New York NY

This was my second time there this time we had my brothers funeral service their its big they did not supply us with heat for the service this was Dec 30th 2022

In the Harlem neighborhood there is this church, a former theater for which there is an audience and a gallery, we had a private guide, a member of the congregation so we were welcomed among the benches of the faithful in the audience. Outside I saw a long line of people who wanted to attend the service and were made to sit in the gallery. Don't expect to see a sister act type function, it's not like that, there is a fairly good choir accompanied by a drummer and a musician who played the pianola. To be honest I was a little disappointed

Very nice experience of a Gospel Mass. Fiery preaching and catchy songs. Even if the tourists are on the balcony we feel the atmosphere of a Gospel Mass

My family had a viewing and funeral there. The message the pastor preached was good.
