Canal Crossing Apartment Homes, Camillus NY

This is purely a maintenance review, which has come a long way since I first moved in. Don’t take this as an overall review for Canal Crossing. Sean (maintenance) is always great, and is in and out with quick fixes for annoying problems. He even offers help for problems that weren’t on the maintenance request, such as bringing missing vertical blinds to replace the broken/missing ones when I requested help fixing a cabinet door.

We lived in our apartment at Canal Crossing for 1 year and half. It was perfect for us whilst we looked for a long term solution. Courtney and her team were great support and very responsive and helpful. We would highly recommend living there. It was helpful being right next to Township 5 and having the canal close by for walks/runs/cycling etc.

Jay is an absolute pleasure. Goes above and beyond to help everyone here at the apartments! Best. Maintenance man. Ever.

I've lived in this apartment for almost a year. The people who work are always kind. If you call the office, for any problem, they come and solve it right away. The apartment is really clean and nice. I like living here very comfortably.

We lived in the apartments for a little under 2 years.we had to move abruptly and we had to pay 3,700 just to move out. Once they sent us our final move out checklist.they calculated almost 2k in damages right. Why did these trifling people only apply 500$ of what we paid for our security deposit instead of the whole $1800. What’s the point of paying a security deposit, if they won’t apply the whole payment toward your move out. We paid almost 2k a month & they’d take months to fix anything. We were without a microwave and dishwasher for months before they came and replaced.they barley ever cleared the parking lot of snow. They’d wait until the middle of the Day to do it.so thank you for this aweful experience canal crossing. I wouldn’t recommend.

Lovely place to live.
Calm, good environment, residents are nice. All complex is very nice and clean.
Nice apartment with very new equipment for kitchen.
Lovely attitude of the office responsible always available to support and help
Maintenance delays some times however nothing to worry about.
Living for 6 months.

Sean came out to service my carbon monoxide detector late on a Saturday night. Then set up a time to replace it. He was kind and professional.

Management and the team of associates working here were very friendly and inviting. Canal Crossing is somewhere I would consider living in the future if not for already living at another wonderful location of Morgan Properties.

I recently moved into canal crossing. The following issues were noted:
The floors are in desperate need of replacement. About half of the faux wood panels are bowed and full of air bubbles. You can apply pressure to the floors and slowly watch them fill back up with air. I’m told this is the case in every Canal Crossing unit. This is very unsightly and likely a tripping hazard.
The cabinets in our unit are destroyed. The finish is completely worn away in areas. There are spots where the dark finish has fallen off and particle board is completely exposed. This is the case in the kitchen, and both bathrooms. Completely unacceptable.
The walls were patched and painted with a color that wasn’t even close to a match.
There were cabinet doors that were off the hinges and completely crooked.
Big stains on the carpets.
Deep scratches and gouges in the fridge door.
The microwave was not working.

Long story short, it appeared as though management did as little as they possibly could to get this place ready for me to move in. They are currently unwilling to give us a date when the larger repairs will be made. To say I am disappointed with my decision to move into Canal Crossing, would be a huge understatement.
