CarMax, East Meadow NY

Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about car max and its employees. I ordered an audi q7 from car max and waited for it to be shipped to my closest location. The shipment and order was canceled on me 3 times! I had a hard time speaking to someone who would take me seriously and complete my order since according to carmax, they didn't complete the order since it was the end or their work day and they went home, and all of the information gets automatically deleted after 2 hours and it needs to be redone. And of course they dont call you to notify you, you just have to sit there thinking everything is ok until you find out yourself. Every time I would re order the vehicle, the purchase price and payment would go up by 50$. And when the vehicle finally arrived and I went to pick it up they raised it by almost another 50$. Meaning my payment was scheduled to be almost 200$ more than when i originally ordered the vehicle. And worst of all, the vehicle was NOT as described to me. It has a clean car-fax title but i discovered that the entire front end had been completely repaired and repainted and very poorly. Indicating that it had in fact been through some sort of accident in the past, and they did not take any responsibility or even try to work with me on any compensation.so long story short, I ordered a vehicle, waited a long time for its arrival, got my payment increased by nearly 200$ AND THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED! And there was absolutely no one that even cared! And there is more to the story as-well. Needles to say i walked away from this horrible horrible deal and I feel sorry for who ever does end purchasing that car. I'm very disappointed and will not be allowing my self or anyone i know to purchase a vehicle through car max. Thank you carmax for wasting my precious time.

Refused too answer my calls yo confirm my car, after they already did 2 credit checks on me, do not waste your time with these people, they will play you and refuse to fix their own mistakes

I had an incredible experience at CarMax! I completed the questionnaire online to sell my car, got the offer and went to the store without an appointment. I waited less than ten minutes, and had my car sold within 45 minutes. The paperwork process was extremely easy and straightforward. There was no catch and my online offer was honored. Also, there was no issue getting a car shipped to a different location from New Jersey for me to test drive. The app keeps you updated on the car’s location and they also let you know once the car has been inspected/is ready for you to test drive. I have recommended this business to friends and family and would definitely come back to sell or purchase a car in the future!

Great staff, everyone in here is busy but extremely helpful. It shows how popular CarMax is in the community! Their lot is clean & very easy to see vehicles.

My experience has been nothing but horrible with this company with selling them my car! First they send you an email stating they will pick up the car and they don’t, every location is different and doesn’t participate in that. Second they tell you to bring a pay off amount if the car is being financed, I drove 35 minutes to get to the East Meadow location and brought it they told me it was the wrong pay off paper and they couldn’t help me, meanwhile they never specified that there is a specific pay off. Was told by Jordan that the number I called was the Virginia office and they don’t really know what documents are needed. So I had to come back another day another 35 minutes. Finally sell my car to Carmax on 2/22/23. Was told it takes 15 days by Deborah for my credit union to receive the check. Here we are on 3/24/23 and my credit union STILL has not received the check. I’ve been calling Carmax for a whole month now different days being told different things, spoke to Ayona, Sidney, Gabriel, Brittany, and Kristen. I’ve been told a bunch of different things & given different check numbers just for them all to be “reissued”! Was told the first check was sent to the wrong address so they had to reissue it and was told that the check was reissued March 16th, was told today by Dean that the check was in fact NOT reissued until March 21st. There’s a car payment due to my credit union for this car tomorrow 3/25/23 that I am expected to pay for a car, that I have sold a MONTH ago! & also have gotten a notice that I don’t have insurance on the car, yes because I don’t have the vehicle anymore so of course I cancelled the insurance on it! It’s a hassle of a mess that I have to deal with. Very very very unprofessional and horrible experience! I will never recommend my family friends coworkers or anybody to this company. Completely unfair and inconvenient to me when I’ve sold this car a month ago and have done everything I was supposed to do!

What a great experience!   I did not have an appointment and I only waited 30 mins to talk with someone about selling my car.   I already did the online offer and I had the offer code with me.   He walked out, took a few pictures and test drove my car.   The online offer is exactly what they offered me.   No hassle or negotiating!   The staff was super friendly!   I received a great price on my car, more than what Carvana was going to give me.   A+

It was my first time to sell my car and I don't know where to get a good deal. I saw carmax app in YouTube. At first I'm not too sure about this place. Every day it kept pop up in the app at YouTube so I said to myself let me go there instead of doing online. I went in today, the place is nice and comfortable, all the associates are friendly. The waiting time was not long about 15 minutes. Andrew the assistant was friendly and nice. He showed me online price and after he checked and took pictures to send to the buyers and the price was still the same. I'm happy for what I got the deal. I will recommend my family or friends to go to this carmax.

Going into CarMax with very low expectations after receiving multiple low ball offers for my car, CarMax associate Rick Sani and the CarMax co.exceeded any and all previous thoughts about "all these corporations are the same. " I would also seek out Rick if I was going to buy a used car! Highly reccomend.

Had a preliminary offer for my kia, drove 40 minutes there and was told that carmax won’t payoff leased kia’s. Super disappointed, and it wasn’t listed anywhere on the website. Would’ve been nice to know ahead of time.

First time purchasing a vehicle online. Sadly many other sites post pricing that isn't reflective of what the real price will be. Usually 2000 to 3000 more. Not true with Carmax, what you see is what you pay. Found a vehicle online, it was in Connecticut, they shipped to East Meadow NY, free. 10 days to check it out. Great no pressure no hassle sales experience. No hassle extended warranty. After bringing the vehicle home, I discovered a driving noise. Service immediately addressed and corrected the matter to my complete satisfaction. RJ and his service people are excellent and caring. They really want you to be satisfied. I have not stopped recommending Carmax to my friends and family, especially the folks in East Meadow. Could not be happier.

CarMax experience was great. Filled out the online form got an offer called CarMax office to make sure of the details and upon arrival at the East meadow New York's location was greeted quickly and a friendly rep took over. They went over the car to make sure it was everything I said it was on the form and then summary no issues paid off my loan gave us the difference in our bank check full paperwork provided. Fast and easy totally recommend it. It's certainly helped that their offer was higher than any other dealer online car buying service!

I was skeptical at first but this is simply the best place to sell your car (asside from selling private-but you always run a risk of meeting a sub-par human to deal with off craigslist) got a quote online (didn't lie on my evaluation of the car) got a quote drove in and a rep evaluated the car and gave me a quote good for 7 days. Returned a day later when a dealership offered me thousands less to trade the car in when purchasing a new car. Got a check from car max in about as much time as it took me to gather my junk and put it into the trunk of my new car. Highly recommend carmax and it will be the first place I go to when I'm looking to sell my current car before I even consider trading it in!

After 20 years and 4 cars purchased from CarMax. This East Meadow location has ruined my loyalty. From messing up my financing, to delivering a car with dirty wheels/doors/wheel wells to listing luxury features that the vehicle did not have. After speaking with headquarters they refused to make things right. Now I have to return the vehicle since my family was defrauded. What a disappointment
