Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Upper West Side / Carmine’s, New York NY

Our friend was planning to take us to Carmine's for a very long time bc of the pandemic and it was so worth the wait! They have outdoor seating which looks lovely but we were a large group with my 2 year old son so we had a table inside (high chair). I couldn't take my eyes of the design of this place, loved it! As our friend suggested, we shared almost everything bc the portions are huge. We had lasagna, chicken linguini, calamari, garlic spagetti (only vegan main dish I guess) and went on with cheesecake and chocolate cake (no flour and served with fresh cream), and the coffee was also great. I can't wait to go back with a friend just to have the delicious deserts with coffee or again to fill myself up with lasagna! Highly recommended!

Food & service has gone down since before the pandemic. Food used to be A1 & the service was a class act but now I definitely wouldn't use those words to describe either. Don't think I'll be back unless invited by a friend.

Long time Carmine’s fan on the top of my eating list when I returned to NYC, I love the big portions and family atmosphere but it’s lost its charm the food lacked heart and flavor it was all mediocre including the service it was like the end of an era.

Been coming here for almost 29 years.the food is almost always superb. Now that they've reopened we came with extended family for my wife's birthday. Once again the food was terrific. However, with different covid related protocols in place the service was not up to the usual standards and a lot of staff was relatively new. I'll give them a pass as I've been in this industry for almost 23 years and have a good idea of what they're dealing with. The one thing that was somewhat disconcerting was the price increases across the board although the wall menus had no prices displayed and the bar increases were staggering. We'll be back, but next time no passes.

Late lunch outside dining and drinks at W 91st location... Shared 3 entrees with leftovers to take home. Great prices for family style dining. Popular place for groups as families waited for inside tables to celebrate Graduations in Manhattan. Lines appeared to move quickly. Metered street parking available as easy subway /bus accessibility. Wonderful wait service, too. They also covered Virgil's takeout orders.

Me and my coworkers came here to celebrate my birthday. Carmines acknowledged my birthday and I had a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion were a good size to accommodate our party of 5. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the outdoor seating

Amazing food, and has one of the best host in town, food fabulous, not for a quiet dinner, it's for eating and chat I with love ones.

Family style Italian restaurant, serving huge portions, always consistent, and out of the 15 years I’ve been coming here I have yet to have an experience anything less then Stellar! Highly recommend the veal and seafood.

What a beautiful setting. We had a fantastic waiter. This was after a very sad memorial service. It was a perfect conclusion to a tough weekend, but one that our loved one would have wanted!

Absolutely loved the atmosphere here. The host and wait staff were very accommodating as well. The wine selection was different, mostly Italian, which I don't mind by any means and welcome trying new kinds, had no descriptions.

Some of the portions were very generous but some weren't (like the chicken parmesan), waiters were very nice and prompt. Very nice experience, thank you

Probably one of the best Restaurant in the NYC. It's no just a place to eat and have a amazing time, but also to work. All the years I worked there, I can't record a single complaint about the food. This place rocks and I'm proud that one long period of my life I was part of this business. Try it, as a former server, I promise you will have no regrets.abbondanza!

One of my favorite places to go eat my sister-in-law invited me for a birthday party and the food was actually excellent it’s a nice Italian spot the drinks are awesome awesome you gotta go

Huuuuuuge plates, dude. Share a plate with like four people. The bread they give you is so good, mmm, so good. There's a lot of noise but it makes for a nice atmosphere

I visited Carmine's 4 years ago and it was excellent. However, my most recent visit was sub par. The salad and the calamari was very good but the main dish we ordered lobster seafood fra diavlo did not have any scallop nor clams. It had a few shrimps a good size lobster and bunch of mussels. The sauce was not good. There was no kick in the diavlo sauce and the plum tomatoes were in chuncks, taste more sweet definitely not spicy as it should be. A disappointing visit.

Carmine's is definitely a true Italian Restaurant. This is a place for birthday celebrations where 1 meal can serve 3 to 4 ppl comfortably and you'll still have left overs. Good Italian eating.
