Carne Mare reviews
15This place is incredible, the bar is like the captains quarters on a ship and the theme does service to the ambiance. I have never had a bad meal here and so many of the menu items are beyond delicious.
The boneless ribeye was divine. This place is a must try. The location, the service and especially the food was out of this world. I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The delicious complementary garlic bread, the mouthwatering steak and the music really matched the perfect ambiance. My husband got the prime rib, although it was good it was an acquired taste for us. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Always a pleasure to dine here when I visit New York from Chicago.my fiance loves the bread lol
First time I came to this place I ordered to take away and I had a terrible service I didn't get covered, napkins they didn't specify
I’ve only been here twice but loved it both times. Most recently we were here at the end of December 2023. Cocktails were excellent, as was the steak tartare. (And that BREAD!) The holiday decorations were tasteful and made a cozy interior even cozier. Service was wonderful, and the music was so good I wanted to ask for their Spotify playlist. This place is a keeper even though we live several neighborhoods away. It’s worth the commute!
Beautiful restaurant, all the food is perfectly seasoned and cooked, you will always enjoy visiting it
The visit started a bit rough - having made a reservation (operative word here is reservation - to "reserve") for a table with a window view, put specific instructions in the reservation and having called a day before to re-verify our location.upon arrival the party ahead of us was seated at a window view and we were told that the remaining tables with window views were in a "closed section" due to not having sufficient staff. After I explained that we had specifically requested, called the day before, et al.finally a manager was summoned and the "closed section" was now opened to us. After this bit of unnecessary drama things really took off. Our server was outstanding, the food was bountiful and delicious (yes, very big portion sizes), glasses by the wine and spirits were adequate. Dessert although sounding simple (lemon sorbet) was accompanied by a lemoncello that spruced it up very nicely.
We had a lovely romantic dinner tonight at Carne Mare. We were sat in cozy booth downstairs by the bar, beautiful atmosphere, delish drinks and food, and our waiter was attentive and thoughtful. He explained the menus, offered detailed descriptions of the food and drinks, and was overall very charming and delightful. To the ladies that refilled our waters and cleaned the tables, thank you so much- it was all very impressive. Definitely a great spot for a fancy dinner.
Made a large party reservation Xmas week and ended up seated at 3 different, close by tables. Ordered the table side garden salad, octopus, rib eye, spicy lobster spaghetti, broccolini and brussels sprouts. Everything was fantastic and of course service top notch.
I was a little confused on the Wigini salad so I ordered the Caesar … it gave me life purpose. Best Caesar I’ve had.
The place and the food was spectacular. The steaks were delicious. Sebastian is a great server and very knowledgeable about the food. He was amazing!
The Mozzarella sticks with Caviar is one of the bites I dream about. Ambiance is perfect and the service is impeccable.
Had an awesome night dining there, the waiter that day nicely recommended us some delish and signature dishes from the menu, also make sure if us w some allergies restrictions, overall the atmosphere, service, foods are good.
Loved the music selection that night! Ordered two drinks, octopus carpaccio, farmers salad for two and the 45 day dry aged porterhouse with arugula/tomatoes. The appetizer bread was DELICIOUS! So buttery I could have boxed some Togo. The porterhouse was very lean, too rare and a bit bland for my taste. My companion stated that it was dry aged, but he would have much rather seen the steak prior because it was giving CHOICE steak. I expected juicy, buttery, tenderness and more marbling than the one we received. We decided to go with meals that we could share. The other dish that we had in mind was the veal chop. A bit more seasoning incorporated would enhance the flavors of the dishes.
The ambiance was very pleasing and reminded me of an old school Italian mob movie. Plenty of restrooms and clean.
