Carpenter Falls reviews
7Absolutely stunning, just wish there was a garbage can or two. I brought my own bag to clean up litter and there was nowhere to put it. In fact, there was a pile of garbage including sanitary products next to the single porta potty in the parking lot.
Nice easy walking on wooden boardwalk to see the falls. Very accessible for everyone (at least to see the falls) The other surrounding trails are fairly easy, but with moderate stairs (150 steps we counted!) Great over all hike. There is a porter-john in the parking area.
Loved the new walkway to the falls. Thank you to those that made hiking accessible to all The walk way to the falls is handicap accessible and easy. There is more steps to the bottom of the trail for those who can handle stairs.
New parking area and a newly constructed walkway to the falls.
The waterfall was incredible. I enjoyed the visit there.
The new parking lot and boardwalk to viewing area are incredible. Very easy short walk. Great for wheelchair or stroller. There is a side trail when you reach the falls that goes down 165 stairs. Stairs are also new and in good condition but there was no railing to assist for stability or to pull yourself back up. No drop off so reasonably safe still. Our 5 year old did fine on them for reference. Additional viewpoint of the falls at the base of the stairs. People were walking the creek bed but we did not due to having young children with us. We did see an adult slip and fall in, while amusing note that the rocks are slick.
There is a porta-potty at the parking lot which isn't the cleanest but functional. Bring some wipes or sanitizer for your hands as it was out during our visit.
Parking lot isn't huge and probably fills up at peak times so plan accordingly.
This is a bit out of the way and sort of "middle of nowhere" so I would integrate it with other activities and make it a stop on the journey. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy waterfalls.
It's a beautiful spot. We stopped there on our way back to NYC. Love the fact that it's so well maintained and accessible, yet natural and beautiful.
