Castel Grisch Winery reviews
19Very friendly staff and a great view of the lake. First time at this winery, worth the stop. Can't wait for the summer light show.
If you are coming for the disc golf, don't bother. They've made the decision to prioritize the animal collection, turning several well thought out holes into essentially jump putt/chip shots so that they can have a woods full of canvas animals.
If you are familiar, holes 1,2,3,6,7,8 have taken a major step back.
Fun and unique stop! Great variety of wines, very cool features on the drive in, and a covered porch that is perfect to enjoy some wine while it rains.
Had a great time tasting some wines and chatting with the owner, Christine. And my toddler loved walking around the grounds and looking at all the dinosaurs. Really fun way to spend some time if you're in the area and have kids!
OMG! We had an amazing time playing the Lost World! Almost lost my disc in the enormous footprint! Super fun front nine with a long and mostly shady back. Stopped in after nine for a refreshing jalapeño margarita wine spritzer, which was amazing! Ended our golf with a mixed wine tasting where we purchased a few bottles to take back to Michigan. Fantastic and friendly, and our pups loved the special treatment! Cheers until we return!
This place is AWESOME! I highly recommend making a stop here, even if you don't drink wine. They have a disc golf course and so much to look at and wander around. The view from the balcony of the bar is beautiful. Our experience was so much fun and if we ever venture to this area again, we will likely return. We did wine tastings and they were $10 a person for 5 different wines. I suggest making a reservation because they seem to be a popular place. Their indoor facility and balcony were clean and spacious. Overall a great time with our 10 person group of friends.
What a strange and fascinating place to find while on a camping trip. The wine was fantastic and the service was incredible. Walking around the grounds, while being mindful of disc golfers, was such a cool experience overall. Our group had a great time here and would definitely come back next time we're in the area!
Always love having a choice between dry, sweet, or mixed tasting flights - and all were fantastic! Easily one of my favorite wineries in the area now.
We loved this winery! Wine was great, staff was friendly, and atmosphere was nice. We especially enjoyed going out to the wine fields and seeing the beautiful plantation area.
There are a ton of wineries in this area, but this one was a very solid winery that we enjoyed. Definitely recommend it.
We visited this winery on a rainy day, and still were able to take some awesome pictures. The establishment has a beautiful deck with a great view, and the grounds have a unique style. The lady who did our tasting was very pleasant and welcoming. The wines were light and crisp. Overall we had a good experience.
Great winery with super nice staff, beautiful and well kept property. You can take a stroll around the property and take in the beautiful views. They didn't have food but they had a good selection of cheeses. I didn't enjoy their wines however.
The views here are amazing! We celebrated a birthday here outside for our tasting and it was lovely. Very spacious and lovely to just sit back and enjoy. The only issue we’re the bees, which is understandable but we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return
Always a wonderful stop to relax and enjoy a glass of wine and beautiful views of Seneca Lake! One of my favorite places in the Finger Lakes!
Awesome winery to stop by!Nice tasting room and scenic view deck!Service is good enough, with $10 for each flight,we can't be more satisfied. The backyard is great for either kids or dinosaur fans. We bought a couple bottles for sure,as those semi dry tasted so good! Will be back next year!
What’s great little winery in the Finger Lakes. This one is “off the beaten path” but not far from other local attractions/wineries. But we’ll worth seeking out! Beautiful countryside, nice big tasting area. Not pretentious! The servers did a wonderful job telling us about the winery and wines and the tasting was at our pace which was so appreciated. We were able to sit out on the big beautiful back deck and relax. Grabbed some cheese and crackers and just enjoyed the last of the summer. Afterwards we wandered the grounds and saw sheep grazing and a menagerie of Donosaur and animal figures (see photos). Our favorite winery in the area. Would definitely return and highly recommend!
Staff was less than enthusiastic and were more interested in “selling wine” than interacting with the customer. The rudeness was very noticeable! Won’t go back!
An ice winery with a decent selection of wines. They have a beautiful deck and the staff is friendly. It is also a kid friendly prpoerty with some unique areas to explore.
Hands down quirkiest winery I’ve ever been to. Came with our two young kids after a busload of tipsy women were leaving to continue their Monday afternoon celebration elsewhere. The lone tasting room employee was visibly exasperated (as anyone would be after a horde of drunk people just put them through the ringer), but was extremely gracious, kind & awesome.
Wines skewed more to sweeter whites, with a few drier whites and just a few reds. We are both dry red drinkers, so we had the only dry red, Baco Noir, and a strawberry flavored slush concoction…both were decent. The iced drink was especially clutch on a 92 degree day.
The quirkiness came in the form of the herd of sheep that have free reign over the property, the public chalkboard wall, the massive array of life-sized ‘dinosaurs’ on the property & the disc golf course amongst them.
Kids loved it, the sheep were adorable, and as someone who travels with discs it was nice to see a course on a winery. Needless to say we will be back for the welcoming & zany atmosphere, even if the majority of the wines aren’t necessarily our style.
Had a fantastic time at this winery! Taking a trip here did not feel awkward, especially since I have not been to many wineries in the past. The younger woman who was working was wonderful and made my girlfriend and I feel incredibly welcomed.
We had a fun time exploring the property and looking at all of the giant dinosaur figurines and other animal figures they have scattered across the property.
They have a dry, sweet, and mixed list for the wine tasting. We had tried the "Sweet" list which gave us 5 different ~2.5 oz cups to try. We really loved all of the flavors that were given to us especially the Seneca Dream Red, the Seneca Dream Red Bubbly, and the Vidal Blanc Iced.
They also have a disk golf course if you are interested in that. The course travels around the property and looks like a lot of fun to do.
We went on a Tuesday afternoon and there was a couple people there when we arrived. The property is off of the main road so it is a nice quiet place to go and enjoy so great wines.
