This place is really awesome. Rates are reasonable and staff are courteous and professional. I was in nyc for 3 weeks, and this garage is the only one that gets an outstanding review from me. Make sure you understand checkin and out timelines for weekday and weekend, as changes. But rates are comparable or better than parking on the street, which of course is dependent on when it is legal to do so, but one gets peace of mind of the garage security (and that is worth a few extra bucks in my humble opinion).:)
While there is generally avail street parking at night (may have to hunt for it), but may have to move vehicle as early as 5: 30 AM, 8: 00 AM, etc.for street cleaning, or simply ends and then allocated to commercial vehicles. Read parking signs very carefully, and download nyc parking app. Your visit in nyc will become much more enjoyable if you do. Have fun!

This Garage by far is the worse place to park. I bring my son to see his doctor upstairs for Diabetes and they use to honor a $5.00 discount, which when you think about it they charge you almost $40.00 for a 2 hr visit. Now they changed the way they give you a "ticket". They send it to you phone so now the hospital staff can NO LONGER stamp your ticket for a meezly $5.00 off. And the staff is RUDE!

Recently moved to the area and was looking for a local garage to park my car on a monthly basis. Went in a few weeks prior and asked if they do special rates for people who live nearby and was told that they do and to come back on a weekday to speak to the manager.

Well, I came back and spoke to the manager on duty, who contradicted his employees and said “no, it’s the $500/mo as marked”, which is fair enough (though I don’t appreciate my time being wasted by previously being told that there are special rates for locals.) I kindly informed him that the garage DIRECTLY across the street offers a lower rate than that and that I’d be willing to pay for 6-12 months of parking up front, and he told me “Go across the street then. Look around. Business is good” with a very rude, condescending demeanor.

Now, I have no problem with businesses not offering special pricing for locals. It’s a free market, you’re free to charge whatever you want and I’m free to spend my money elsewhere (which I did, quite happily.)

What I have a problem with is:
1. The rude and unprofessional demeanor of the manager on duty.
2. Being lied to, since I found out the next day that you can rent a monthly spot from this garage using DropCar for $385/mo, which is clearly a “special rate. ” Now, unless your garage is so full that you never have any empty spots, business could always be better and I’m sure those higher up don’t appreciate losing out on thousands of dollars when they’re clearly offering special rates through affiliates.

So all in all, don’t bother with these guys, and use the much more courteous and professional GMC Red Ball garage across the street on 31st instead.

They charge you extra when you go to receive your vehicle. We paid everything online but they made us pay extra $$ when we went to get our car and when we asked why. They said the machine shows you have a balance and that they cannot do anything about it. DO NOT PARK HERE!

When I walked there to pick up my car, I thought they locked my car inside. I was panicking so much I couldn’t think straight, I was just about to call an uber back home. I looked at the ticket again and saw that there’s a number I can call. When I called the number, I reached someone, told them what happened and then he says there’s another garage on 32nd st. I told him again I parked my car in the 31st st garage. He says you cannot go through that garage because it is closed. I called him again because he had me thinking there’s another parking garage, not entrance. The attendants who I pulled up to earlier should have said “When that gate closes, go around to the other entrance on 32nd St. ” that way they won’t have their customer think that he or she got their car locked in. Now I feel bad for having my family drive far to where I was to come and get me. At least I got my car back after I called the number that third time and after more than hour wasted trying to get my car. Their communication sucks!

Parked here for 24 hours. When I came back to pick up my van the next day, I was charged for 48 hours. Clearly I wasn't parked the extra day, so I asked the attendant about the mistake. He told me that since I had parked there for 24 hours and 10 minutes, I had to pay for an extra day of parking. I was leaving town that day, so I didn't need the extra day and tried to pay for the extra hour. He refused and said that it was out of his control and that the "machine" does it that way. I ended up paying for 2 days parking. Stay away from this place
