Restaurant Catch NYC reviews
15We were verbally assaulted & sworn at by a barman at CATCH NYC while we were mid drink who didn't believe we were tipping him quick enough. Horrendous human being. We left immediately and would never return here.
Food was just ok. Very expensive for what you get! Staff are thieves. They Stole an item of mine. Managers are useless and helpless. All they have to do is check the cameras all over the restaurant. Won’t help or check video. Will NEVER go back, neither will my friends or family. Staff and managers are terrible! Stay away from this restaurant! Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Go to Nobu instead.
Me and my husband had dinner with a couple of friends. We felt VERY uncomfortable.
First of all, the security at the front was awfully rude to us and giving us dirty looks. So ghetto. In Europe this would never happen. I asked the Spanish looking gentleman that opened the door for me, if it’s busy tonight and he looked annoyed saying “I don’t know”.
However, the food and drinks were nice. Although, I don’t think I’ll be coming back if that’s how I’m greeted at the door especially having a reservation. I rather be greeted by TSA than by this fellow again. If you don’t like your job then don’t be in this line of work.
Unfortunately our experience at Catch was a complete disappointment -apparently similar to numerous recent reviews here. We had a reservation for brunch and arrived on time. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, we were still not seated. Despite our reminders to the staff and the manager, we were told to wait for more with no estimated time. I understand that customers may not leave their tables exactly on time but if a place defines itself as a part of “one of the most renowned restaurant groups” in their website; their customers should not wait for 30 minutes just to be seated at a table they reserved days ago with no estimated time. I do not recommend this place after all this lack of hospitality.
Food is absolutely delicious and their drinks are spot on. We got a Porterhouse steak, chicken bao buns, sashimi pizza, truffle sashimi, crispy shrimp, the lobster mac n cheese, and the Brussel sprouts. ALL were delicious! We also went upstairs for dancing after. Really nice atmosphere in both the restaurant and the lounge.
Quite possibly the best sushi I've had on the East Coast. Everything was delicious but the chutoro and otoro nigiri were perfection. Everything we had was great. Atmosphere was really cool. Came for an early dinner and it was just the right level of buzz. They have a rooftop but it was raining and cold so didn't investigate.
I cannot say more good things about catch. The STAFF are unbelievable. The atmosphere is great. You won't go wrong coming here.
Worst club I have ever experienced, and will never be back. You guys need to do something about your bouncers because they were extremely rude, hostile, and extremely discriminatory towards women. My one friend and i were pushed by the bouncer inside the club. We were speaking to other people waiting in line and the one bouncer used vulgar language towards women calling my friend and i trashy. Wish i could give this place zero stars. Such a terrible experience that ruined our night!
Cool place and vibes are chill. I think for a night out great place to start for food. Definitely get the dessert. Service was good and food came fairly fast.
The restaurant lost my credit card after running it to pay the bill. They offered no discount or anything to make up for the inconvenience, it was really disappointing. They also charged more for a bottle of wine than the price listed on the menu.
Got a table for two near the bar, so no wait. Made a meal of a blue king roll and the lobster mac. Highly recommend both. The drinks were great as well.
Terrible service. Had a reservation and still waited an hour, kept being told five more minutes which turned into over 60. When we finally sat down, we got a table in the way back near nobody. Said we were leaving and they finally moved us. Yes, the food is good. But it is in NYC, where there are plenty of good and better places. Avoid this place unless you want to be profiled.
Catch NYC is vibrant and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Little Gen Salad. It’s enough for 2 to share and goes down as one of the best salads I have ever had. The donut presentation was a surprise with small bottles of various dipping sauces. Stellar! Service is beyond efficient.
This was some of the best food I have ever! As a chef I thought everything was just awesome. Just very hot on the second floor.
