Cedar Point County Park reviews
19We were there with whole family. Everyone was happy. Amazing place to have relaxing. We were on the middle of October. The weather was perfect? Water was so quiet. Very recommended that place
Great camp ground, nice people, beautiful beach and walk to the light house. Nice hiking trail. Staff is friendly. Try to avoid the party crowds that go on weekends if you want to sleep. But. Park rules are strictly be enforced and the neighbors abide by in the rules.
Have stayed here many times. Usually off season. Quiet at these times, beautiful beach with 4x4 access (Suffolk County Outer Beach Permit required). Park is under new management and seems to be in good shape. Maybe they could not leaf-blow the forest at 8am.
I love the fresh air, camping, salt water, moon, stars…. East Hamptons. I loved swimming in the bay watching the stars with a few friends and not a care in the world.xo
The only downfall I really didn’t like was that they allow people to come in with all these chemicals and just start spraying up in the air. One person did it with their small little children right underneath right near us. This is nature. There is a better way.
Great camp ground, sunset on the bluff over looking sag harbor bay was spectacular last night
More than you can expect it like that it's really joyful I will not hesitate to go back.
A very affordable option for those looking to enjoy the Hamptons over the summer when prices elsewhere are so high. I was able to book the day before visiting in mid July.
The site is in woodland so is mostly sheltered however this does mean tics are very much present. So you need to take all the precautions to avoid tic and other bug bites.
There are showers and restrooms on the site which are ok but I’ve had better. There is also a shop.
I took a tent but there seemed to a variety of campers there and different vehicles.
There is a stony beach just at the edge of the site which seemed quiet when I was there.
Very clean and I enjoyed stretching my legs here and my husband found a board with facts about the area to read while I took pictures
Ticks galore. Won't be returning.stayed May 19th and just blown away at the sheer number of ticks in our camp. We rolled out a green carpet and within 20 minutes were finding deer, lone star, and dog ticks crawling across everything in camp. In one afternoon we killed a dozen and continued to keep finding them. The poor pup was getting examined every hour.
This is one of the best campgrounds on the island that I never knew about. Me and my wife both agreed. We would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the bathroom. They weren't horrible. They were very dated. At least I didn't have to pull a cord to start the water in the shower. It was set up with a motion sensor. See you had to keep moving to have the shower going. But the water was definitely hot. The park has a lot of great features. Very close to the beach and you can go four wheeling here as long as you have a county pass. You can get a day pass for $30. It's $100 for the year. We started looking into the glamping but at$250 a night I'll pass. There weren't a lot of ticks but some. You have to bring your own fire ring and there was water on the sites but no sewer or electric. There's also a convenience store that is up and running so definitely check it out. They have wood there. We will definitely be coming back here again.
Unpolite people on duty, not helpful, no light on the lighthouse
seems ok for camping, RVing, hiking & biking
nice walk out to where the light was (without the light)
We camped off-season, late fall, with night temps in the 40s-50s. There were only a handful of campers scattered throughout the park, so it was nice and quiet. A group of families spent the weekend, and the kids were having a great time riding their bikes and enjoying the nearly-empty park. I don't think I would enjoy the park during high season. There are a lot of campsites in this park. Some are very small, and they're packed together like a parking lot without any buffer or space between sites. In our area, there was one big restroom/shower. Very clean, but I imagine it would be crowded and loud during peak season.
We'll go back, but only during off season time frames when it's quiet.
Great, quiet place for any type of camping. You have beach access, sand pits for volley ball and plenty of short trails to travel. Staff is pleasant to!
Love this place, even though I am a visitor and not a Suffolk resident. You'll get charged quite a bit compared to a county resident. No matter, my kids love it and I really enjoy the tranquility of this place. Yes, I do run into the unavoidable KAREN but if you disregard those and focus on your campfire, fishing, swimming, hike trail, nature and anything else you like, then you'll be happy with the place. The people who work there are great, just follow the rules. The office people may treat you like a stranger but that'll just happen when you are not in the system.
First time going and it was great! Nice walk on the beach to the lighthouse. Lots of shells. Great place for a family "hike".
Take bug spray just in case - the mosquitoes were unreal! A warzone! On the beach there were none, thanks to the breeze, but inside the park was just terrible.
We definitely plan to return - my kids loved it!
Great place, great people very nice and accommodating. Mary Beth was great and extremely helpful for our first time here. We will definitely be coming back again next season.
Great place for myself and my family very affordable highly recommend of course there's a lot of mosquitoes that's Nature's part of it. Very clean bathrooms which we appreciate and our spot had a water spigot for us thanks
A huge park. I loved it didn't get a chance to explore it really. But it's really nice. Bring bug spray mosquito's are very plentiful. They have camping too. Saw deer also. A great place to get away too.
Lots of trees, has a water view. And there's is a little known Long Island Lighthouse in the park too. Definite recommendation.
