Don’t let the 4.7 average rating fool you. Nothing about this place is remarkable or authentic in any way. The “Neapolitan style pizza “is just your average thin crust. It did not have the signature charred bubbly chewy crust of actual Neapolitan pizza. The calamari was soggy, The anchovy crostini was OK, but just fish on thick regular bread on a bed of greens, not crisp crostini. We ordered a bottle of our favorite wine, montepulciano d’Abruzzo that we know very well, and this one had a fizz to it that we weren’t expecting. We asked the owner if this was normal, and he said yes, but it did not mention this anywhere in the description.we were so disappointed we decided to not even order a main course and still paid over $50 a person. It’s also cash only.

Great for gluten free. I have celiac disease and they went over everything on the menu with me. Gluten free pasta, and they say they have a separate oven for gluten free pizza.

Food is delicious the pizza thin crust simple but flavorful.
Cash only, our waiter Steffano was very attentive and his recommendations on point.

We had delicious food here, the ricotta and greens, the artichoke salad and the homemade tagliatelle with shrimp and cabbage were all superb! Stefano, our server, brought the courses out at just the right tempo. Highly recommended!

Cozy, friendly, and intimate. Celeste is perfect for a date or group of close friends to enjoy a great authentic meal together. Their food is on point, the variety of the menu ensures breadth with depth, and their desserts cannot be missed.

I especially recommend the caprese.

Chill and down to earth place with great food, friendly staff, and timely service. I especially recommend the clam vermicelli, aromatic with seafood flavors and fresh ingredients without overpowering butter flavor like many other clam vermicelli.

The apple pie dessert was also wonderful in flavor and texture. Bouncy, sweet and soft apple with yogurt glaze that compliments it perfectly.

Loved the Quattro stagioni pizza as well!

The best Italian cuisine in the Upper West Side by far is at Celeste. It. Has. Everything…Exceptional quality, phenomenal atmosphere, and incredible staff.

My husband and I have been coming here since it opened. It has always been excellent but I must say it is now superb! The menu is quite large including fantastic options. Last night I had the special mushroom lasagna on a bed of luscious bechamel sauce that just took my breath away! Carmine is as always incredibly attentive, gives great recommendations for food and wine. This restaurant is a must go!

I’ve been coming here for well over 10 years. Service is impeccable and Carmine is a gem, this is easily my favorite restaurant in NYC. I’ve been out of NYC for 6 years, but this is always a required stop when I’m in town.

Don’t walk, run to Celeste. You’ll be rewarded handsomely.
