I am a nurse of 30 + years in the medical field, sadly this is my first negative review but every word is 100 % accurate and honest. I was referred by my primary doctor to this facility for ongoing lower back pain with unknown origin. After initial office visit with Physicians assistant not Dr. Quanda several tests were ordered.x-rays and Mri's. I had to request to see Dr. Quanda when results in. A surgical steroid injection under imaging was scheduled. The procedure did not go well! Dr.never numbed the area or advised when he was starting. He missed the targeted area and complications arose. I told the assistant immediately something didn't feel right. She said it was normal and to schedule a follow-up. My pain escalated over the next 3-5 days. I called 10.5,10.9,10.11, and left detailed messages w I th staff regarding pain, numbness, radicluopathty and neuropathy, no call back received ever until I placed a negative review of 1. That got Dr Quanda attention personally, he called and asked for a second chance, and asked the review be removed. I agreed. I hesitantly went to the office now with new more advanced symptoms of falling and severe pain. He ordered and EMG and steroids and said pain meds.
However he NEVER EVER ordered anything for pain, and he never did perform and sort of
examination on me to see the severity of the loss of function has left me in severe pain for over 21 days. Recently advised office I will not be returning for any follow-up care, and seeking a second opinion. Since my injection I can not control when or if i will fall to my knees randomly. Has happened at least 3 dozen times. I have notified my health insurance of complications and unnecessary testing ordered.with no resolution. To date 5 weeks later I am using a cane now, which has advanced to a walker, in severe pain 8.5, and have repeatedly randomly falling episodes with unknown origin. Imy doctor has ordered pt 3x a week for 8 weeks. I wouldn't trust this office to render care to no one. They are npt competent enough to get messages to the Dr to have answers for what's going on. Nor do they appear to care that they caused the severity of the issue and render nothing for pain. Poor poor patient care. They lie an mistru the words you leave as messages. They render no concern for patients well being at all.

I had my Laminectomy a couple of days ago, no doubt Dr. Qandah and his team did an amazing job. Also the team in Rome hospital is super professional and humane. The only thing they lack is communicative skills. Any patient is in need of psychological support more than the actual remedy itself, and all providers come in hurry and it feels like begging them to answer my concerns. Anyway, a huge thank you to Dr. Qandah. May God bless him to keep assisting as many people as he can.

Initial visit 9-15-23. Pain medicine prescribed for ongoing pain and MRI to be scheduled. PA (Alex) advised he did not want to prescribe a steroid. When nurse came back I she said prescription was a steroid. I explained what the PA said and she went out and came back in and said she made a mistake, the prescription was not a steroid. (First point of doubt) Prescription called into wrong pharmacy and had to go without pain medication over the weekend. Determined pharmacy that had prescription and was told PA (Alex) needed to contact them to clarify dosage. I called the office for two days, talked to multiple people and no resolution to prescription issue. I was
told stories and disconnected multiple times. I asked to speak with the office manager to provide feedback, still no callback. Finally after insisting on speaking with the PA (Alex) he came to the phone only to scold me for how I was talking to him and his staff. At this point I was so frustrated and in disbelief of what was happening (unable to help my elderly mom relieve her pain) I resigned to becoming a puppet to Alex to get him to contact the pharmacy to straighten out this issue. The wait time was truly unbelievable each time I called, over an hour hold each time. If I opted for an automatic callback, the callback come through with the representative talking to someone else and asked me to hold. She must have muted her phone (did not place me on hold) and 10 minutes later disconnected the call. Since I am not a person to write this type of review, I will
certainly share any improvements regarding this practice if we decide to
move forward with them. Praying this changes, as I hate to start over locating another provider and have my mom
have to wait any longer to have her pain resolved I hope the Office Manager sees this feedback and addresses areas of concern

I'm not even sure how to feel about what I'm about to share.: - (
I went to this doctor previously for an MRI for treatment of ongoing sharp pain in my neck accompanied by severely reduced range of motion in my right shoulder and the sensation of falling asleep that began in the right shoulder joint and would slowly creep down to the elbow increasing in intensity until I found a position to relieve it. I believe the diagnosis was, scoliosis of the cervical spine, with protruding discs and arthritis. After physical therapy that provided short term relief, I was given an appointment to come here for an injection into my neck. This is the 3rd injection into my neck and the last two were the worst I've ever had and the difference between what I was told and what actually happened was vastly different. At the time of scheduling the injection and literally minutes before, I asked if there would be any pain medication BEFORE the actual injection which is extremely painful beyond any reasonable description, especially for someone who has 0 tolerance for pain and a fear of needles that measures off the charts. I was told by an amused nurse there would be pain medication before the injection. During the injection, I felt every terrifying thing, it was done very abruptly & without numbing medication. They said the numbing med was included in the shot & even thought I felt at least 2-3 painful punctures, I was only given one. I would like to add that my very first injection into my neck was done in New Haven, CT and there was a pain numbing agent given BEFORE injecting the medication and when the medication was given, I felt nothing at all. This was the experience I was hoping to repeat and to date neither of the two doctors I have seen since moving to CNY, provided that experience, they also didn't seem to be concerned about my frustration and fear or any pain caused by the injection without an initial numbing injection. A week later the pain had changed from constantly sharp to intermittently sharp when I was performing activities such as housework, showering, or sleeping. I contacted the office after the x rays and was told the lingering pain was related to the shoulder and I was referred to an orthopedist. I saw the orthopedist, Dr. Rubinovitch, who after reviewing my x rays determined that I had tendonitis. He gave me an injection into the back of my shoulder. After a few days, the only changes were that the sharp pain was reduced but still intermittent with movement and there was no change in the "falling asleep" feeling. Two weeks later I had follow-up with Dr. Rubinovitch, who after examining my shoulder and moving my arm said the injection into the shoulder worked and the remaining discomfort was definitely related to my neck. He said he would contact the doctors at CNY Brain & Spine to inform them. When I didn't hear anything after a week, I tried to call them and was told I have an appointment for late September, and I needed to contact my primary care physician until then. I didn't understand the logic of this, but I did as I was instructed. My PCP told me that they are not the treating physician on this issue, and I needed to contact the treating physician. I called CNY B&S (notice the double meaning of the abbreviation) and was told not only that I would have to wait until the end of September before this ongoing issue would be addressed. They have no urgent care, or walk in hours, which is fine, but I would think that either the treating doctor or a nurse would follow up at minimum with a phone consultation to determine why the injection they gave me either wasn't working or wasn't working as well as expected 3 weeks out. Instead, it was suggested that if I was that much pain, I should find either an urgent care clinic or go to the emergency room. If I understand correctly no one is concerned enough about my ongoing pain & discomfort or why the extremely painful injection into my neck to see me or at least call for a phone consultation before late September. I'm confused, should I be happy with my treatment or not?

I wish I could give agency 6 stars
I was told they don’t have x rays on premise.
I don’t recommend for workers Comp or major injuries where attention to detail is needed. Also, very important details about my condition were also left out of my medical reports.

Dr. Qandah and his team saved me. Before my ALIF I was just a shell of a person. Unable to do most things I enjoyed in life. I was feeling hopeless. I am about 4 months post-op and I feel better than I ever have! I could never thank the team for giving me my life back. Thank you Dr. Qandah!

Dr. Q was amazing all the way around, I was in a bad mva, which in turn damaged my c-soine he made sure I was informed about the whole process, and procedure, I had a minor issue with nurses at rome hospital after surgery (at hospital, not his staff) and he went above and beyond to correct it, and make me feel like a person not a policy #, he listened to me on what I wanted and helped me achieve it, before I could not move without excruciating pain, my whole right side was numb, my foot drop was bad and after my surgery I immediately had feeling again and my foot drop improved! I wouldn’t let anyone else touch me! Thank you Dr. Q for your service and patience, and compassion and your office is outstanding and very supportive!

My husband has been going on 3 years to these people, with very little understanding on there part how much pain he is in. A person who is in a lot of pain are very tired, they become very rude, mean. This should be a norm for anybody in the medical field to understand, and should know how to be handle. Now this does not happen at there office in New Harford or Rome. They have never gave my husband anything for pain, just more test. Which they stated that was only mild. But his body does not show mild. And stated he could help him with the pain but wasn't sure if he wanted to. That says to me, that they have no intention of really helping my husband. Yes, the people who work for them are wrong, with their attitude of how they deal with a patient.

I have been trying to explain to the doctor that I have been having big problems with my lower back and the pain is not good, each time I went there I got no help, finally they scheduled a EMG for me which didn't help my pain level, and then they scheduled me for a MRI and another trip to the city, but my back was really bad and they put me in a changing room and left me for 40 minutes, so after that I decided to get dressed and leave, then the girl showed up and said why are you dressed and I told her, she then got a attitude with me and she was rude and I was not in the mood either, and we got argued with her and got into the machine and then some other person came in to argue and I was angry with pain and not in a very good mood, when I left and went to my next appointment to see the results and they were not very professional about my problem and before a big scene with a very unprofessional doctor I got up and left the room knowing that I was not going to get any help from them anymore for a problem that they are responsible for

Had an injection to "help" with my pain from a herniated disc. Injection did not go smoothly so they hid me in a side room and left me alone with out even a tissue to wipe my tears. I had to tell them multiple times that I wanted to leave. Now my back feels like I've got a third degree burn three days later and my leg still hurts. Couldn't pay me to walk across that threshold again. They were so rude, even telling me to take a valium before the next shot so I wouldn't be so upset. There will not be a next time.

I made one phone call when I thought there was no help left out there for me. They set me up with an appointment the same exact day, by the end of the week I had x-rays and an MRI done, surgery was scheduled almost immediately, and within a few weeks after my back surgery I felt like I did 20 years before. The staff was very flexible, professional and understanding, and I feel like I was truly given a brand new back. I can’t say enough about this team of professionals, and I have advised at least a dozen friends and family to go to this practice. Thank you for everything!

Just to let you know, I don’t leave comments. But, after my successful surgeries I just had to. I have had 15 surgeries with most major surgeries. I have had some extremely bad experiences. Dr. Q and Alex understood my mental health and physical health. To have Doctors and the staff at the New Hartford office understand and were KIND! They have the most up to date diagnostic imaging and procedures. They are the Only surgeons that actually treated Me and not just the injury. They were personable, patient, supportive, and SUCCESSFUL!

Thank you and May God Bless you, staff and patients,
Michelle
