Chasing Tailor, Brooklyn NY

It’s so difficult to find a quality tailor with great insight in NYC. It seems to be a dying craft, and I’m so happy to have found Chasing Tailor. They helped me tailor a suit to make it a bit more custom and sleek for a wedding I was attending. Expect to pay more than your typical dry cleaner, but for a good reason. I’d highly recommend and plan to go back for my next alterations.

Arthur is an absolute gem, incredibly reasonable for the quality of work, and worth every penny. I've gone here for everything from a simple pant hem to a dress that needed a rather complicated lining reconstruction. He nails it every time. If he doesn't think a garment would benefit from tailoring, he'll tell you. His specialty sewing machines can do alterations that your average dry-cleaner-tailor could never compare to.

He's also just a fabulous person, a joy to talk to and learn about, and that's reflected in his beautiful art-filled space. Go go go!

Had my bridesmaid dress shortened for $55. It was a one week turnaround. The workmanship was perfect, very happy with the final results. He only accepts cash or Venmo, but if you Venmo then he will add an additional fee so I suggest paying in cash. My only comment is I wish he had a proper changing room but there is a bathroom I was able to use so no big deal. He is only by-appointment so make sure to give yourself time to get an appointment on top of the turnaround time!

Took on a job for us, then turned around 2 days later and told us he didn’t have time for it. Don’t waste your time, not a professional.

Natalie tailored my wedding dress and I seriously could not recommend her enough! Honestly I waited way way way too late to go in and get my wedding dress tailored and Natalie worked really closely with me to make sure that my dress fit exactly the way I pictured and got it in time for my wedding which I was stressed about! She is super sweet and a great listener and a helpful thought-partner. I have also brought in two extremely hard to tailor vintage sequenced dresses from the 60's that they did a great job on, one of which is so old that it was quite literally falling apart. I have read a couple of reviews on here that aren't the best, and I have to say, being from the midwest, I was caught off guard by Arthur's very New York, very direct personality at first, but it is nothing personal and he warms up and they do such great work that I wouldn't put too much weight to those other reviews! They do great work here on items that you really need trusted hands for!

One week turn around time for a simple sleeve adjustment. Ridiculous. Then, they charge ALOT extra if you need it quickly. Stay far away.

The care these guys took with my project was incredible. I went in not knowing anything, just wanting to do something special for my wife. They not only helped me come up with the design for my gift, they also knocked it out of the park in no time at all. Clear communication, easy payment, and seamless pick up. The work is beautiful, I will definitely use Chasing Tailor again!

Arthur is always frank, honest and upfront- on my most recent visit her convinced me take a less expensive option for alerting pants. His work has always been exactly what was agreed upon and has lasted years. I would highly recommend him.
