The steamboat was an incredible experience.
We enjoyed the narration, the trip and the beautiful Belle!
Do not miss the opportunity to ride one of only four steam paddle boats still running.

It’s a very nice little cruise it’s very informative about the history about the area. This is the second time we’ve taken it and will probably take it a third time sometime.

Very peaceful. Enjoy being on the water. Everyone was kind and courteous and very helpful. Would like to hear more live commentary on the historical background. Some recording are ok and it is understandable with the amount of times you’d repeat it but it takes away from the personal aspect of it all. Some is great but maybe add a little personal comments here and there.

This was a lovely experience. They are doing a nice job preserving this boat from days gone by. It made for a very enjoyable afternoon on the Chautaqua Lake. We will go again! Happy to support this slice-of-life offering.

We have traveled on the Belle twice in the last year. Once on the Chadakoin River that drains Chautauqua Lake at its southerly end in September 2021, departing and returning to Jameston, NY. The other trip was on the northern part of Lake Chautauqua in August 2022 from Mayville, NY.
On the first excursion, we heard a very interesting account about the age of Steam Boats on the river and the lake.
On the second trip, we were informed about the various villages and settlements in the northern part of the lake and things that were unique to that part of the lake, like Chautauqua Institution, a summer resort.

Very nice ride with historic information provided on the recorded audio. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to hear, but very interesting. An opportunity to just sit back and relax.

Lovely little cruise if you’re looking for something to do on a beautiful day. The boat is really unique, staff aboard is friendly, and you learn a lot of interesting historical facts about the area with the audio recordings that play during the cruise. I would definitely do this again!

Really nice historical tour on a very old paddle wheel steam boat. Learned several interesting facts about the boat and Chautauqua Lake.
Crew was friendly and helpful.
Two reasons for not giving 5 stars. First, the $19 bag lunch is way overpriced and we didn’t get what we ordered. I ordered 3 turkey lunches and 1 ham when I bought our tickets online. We were given 3 assorted and 1 roast beef (roast beef wasn’t even an option online). No turkey or ham was available. Along with the sandwich, the lunch included a bag of chips, an orange and 2 cookies. Not a bad lunch but, should not be more than $10.
Second, the overhead recording was very loud. I couldn’t hear my friend next to me to converse.
Otherwise a fun time. Would do again but, eat lunch before we go.

The history and details about Chautauqua as well as the steamboat history was interesting and well put together. The information about the current owner and his dedication to keep it available for tourists and those of us who return to our roots where we were raised is so important and heart felt. Thank you for an outstanding ride.

Had another wonderful afternoon cruise on the "Belle" on 7/16. It was a wonderful few hours steaming around the lake on a perfect day. Already thinking about doing it again soon!

A must do experience!
Take a trip through history on a steam ship.
Captain Frank is knowledgeable and open to questions about the inner workings of mechanicals

Fun, but they should also give quiet rides where you can just enjoy the lake and not listen to the talking over the speakers!
