Chemung Valley Veterinary Clinic, Elmira NY

Excellent service at Cemung Valley Animal Clinic. Dr. Barbara Mix is an outstanding vet. She gives all my pets the best care. Especially my very dominant German Shepherd. She is a "straight shooter" and will always tell me exactly everything I need to know. The techs and office staff have also always treated both my pets and I great also.

Generally great, but one bad experience with a very sick, near end-of-life furry friend has lost them a perfect rating.

The staff are all nice and compassionate. They were able to fit us in when our old lil dog wasn't doing too well and then again when we took him back for a follow up. They also followed up with phone calls, as they said they would.

I was a client for years and I finally have had enough. Here are just some of my stories.
I took my cat in, she was rapidly losing weight. They said it was stress, she was dead two weeks later. I brought my other cat in with tumors and eye issues, they insisted on a blood test that would require anesthesia which I refused because my cats 18 and I think it would probably kill her. They agreed that was possible, but they offered no other options. This was par for the course with them because even if you tell them you can’t afford it or don’t agree they will always insist on the most expensive treatment and tests possible without offering other options.

No better than other local vets
They didn't follow up with me like they promised for my chi with cancer.

These people are great. Compassionate and kind. I've had to deal with so many incidents from my pets to strays and the crew here has been with me the whole time. Thank you Chemung Valley Vets!

I have three dogs currently, but have also taken a previous dog and cat to this veterinary clinic. They treat all my animals with compassion. That are knowledgeable and caring and take their time to explain everything to me. I recommend this clinic without any hesitation!

Thoughtful people who truly care about you and your pet. Took my puppy there after Cornell University could not figure out what was wrong and they found lime disease in a few minutes. Dr Cutler is genuine and cares about you as a person.

Always do a great job with my animals. Maria at the front desk is wonderful, the other receptionist not as friendly, too business like. Won't go anywhere else though. The staff treat my animal family like family.

They helped me make sure my cat was flea free and ready to move to Turkey. They worked hard, charged a fair price, and we're so polite and courteous the whole time. Highly recommend.

Dr. Cutler is fantastic wonderful very personable so happy to find these wonderful people that really care.

Amazing prices on EVERYTHING.
And when a pet has surgery, they trim their nails & clean their ears for free. Great with patient teaching.

Had our first visit today at Chemung Valley Vet. Took our cat Beastie first because he has a heart condition and I did not want him to go without his meds. Dr Mix and Tammy were so good with him, he is normally very nervous and stressed around strangers and he showed no signs of either today, Big Thanks to both of you, he is sleeping very comfortable now and no itching!
