Let me just say. All these bad reviews, believe all of them. I cannot wait to move out, you get treated like less than a human. Management will violate all your tenant rights, there is no communication unless it’s about missing a payment. Missing a payment is the only way to get attention.

1 star not deserved, the apartments are outdated, delipidated. The building entrance and hallways are filthy and unkept. Not to mention the rats and roaches. Management avoid calls and complaints.

Me and my been here since 1982.we are happy here. Mgt. Is great. I get the help I need as soon as I call.building is secure and Clean.

If negative stars was an option, it would fit perfectly. Worse landlords in history. Phone calls! Emails! No response back. Super is no longer responding. They came for repairs to bathroom for a leak. Completely ripped out the ceiling above sink and shower, and never returned to fix the ceiling. Instead covered it up with plastic bags and cardboard. It’s going on a month.

I’ve lived in my apartment for over a year and have had multiple issues and tried to contact the office and no one has responded. I also fell down the stairs and hurt my back because of no wet floor signs and I tried to contact the office and still NO ONE responded. It comes down to ethics. They don’t care about my well being. But when the rents due there’s a notice on my door. Go figure right?

This is the worst building company I had ever seen. It is impossible to speak with someone at this place, I been trying t reach them for months and nobody had ever call me back.their line service is horrible.

I have been waiting for the exterminator for 2 months now, just moved it this January and I’m still living in this condition. They knew that this apartment is infested with roaches but still rent it to me. 1230 Sheridan Avenue Apt 3C.

Can’t get in touch with the property management no one answers the phone where is the real rent office at?

They don’t answer the phone, thermo in my building not working gas’s bill coming crazy and they don’t fix it, it been three months now. I’m not paying for a building problem. Plus other repairs I don’t have answers too. Ashley is the property manager she don’t answer you or help with any problems.

If I could I would give these ignorant people negative million reviews. Not professional and a scammers

No cameras = bad security, packages get stolen, stairs smell of urine, elevators are outdated and constantly breaking down. No way to know if they are going up or down, Laundry room machines go down constantly… Rent is not cheap either…

These people are horrible they don’t answer the phone they don’t clean or fix anything the super Jose is a joke and thinks everything is funny. I got threw to the phone once a the most unprofessional person ever answered the phone like nah yooo. Who speak to tenants like that. The noise at night is horrible between the rats and everyone playing music and smoking crazy digging in the trash. Don’t ever come here run for dear life.

They never answer the phone, won't let you inside the office to speak in person, you have to sneak upstairs, they dnt do proper repairs, the heat comes on sometimes, staff sounds like they have unpleasant attitude. This management needs lots of improvement.

I have submitted request for repairs with photos of my bathtub over 3 years but nobody has responded to my request.
Can’t reach out owner on phone when needed and can’t explain problems in detail because website accepts only few words.
Many cracks on the wall that needs repair but no response as well.

No good management. They don't care about their tenants, they don't like to do repairs they just want the RENT

Hector is not a nice super. Please fix my daughter's repairs. He keeps my daughter waiting for repairs. She has pest infestation, leakages.

Worst landlord ever I have lead paint in my apartment and they haven’t fixed it. Slumlords is the correct term building has gone downhill ever since they purchased it. Lack of literally everything! Maybe after this review I’ll finally get my repairs done

Business with Chestnut Holdings has been and is currently the most revolting experience I have ever had in my life. I’ve been a perfect tenant here. I have great relationships with the super, new incoming super, residents and I keep my space beautiful. I pay my rent on time every single month and I budget and work very hard to do so. It is most devastating that my landlord, who I’ve never even met is raising the rent 100% within their legal right, without any warning. To make matters worse, I have no way of getting in contact with anyone from the management company or the landlord. I’ve driven all the way out to their listed address (currently in car) to find that there is no Chestnut Holdings location for you to even visit! When speaking to neighbors, they say they feel so sorry for us, because they’ve seen multiple people out here in the hills of near Yonkers, just looking and confused, asking if ANYONE knows where Chestnut Holdings is. These people should be ashamed of themselves. They leave people who are desperate for answers about the roof over their heads, who do the right thing and their part, to fend for themselves. I’m disgusted and at this point, all I can do is turn to God and try to cut corners to make ends meet. They are raising my rent $120. The greed is appalling and devastating to someone already doing their best and still struggling. Do not be sweet-talked by a broker into doing business here. It’s not what it seems; though the location does have some appealing features. If you can find actual honest people to do business with, I caution you to go with them. Stray from those who are so deeply involved in the aspects of business that they forget their humanity.

UPDATE: I found their office. You have to type in the number of the address and it leads you five minutes down the road to the building of offices, NOT the location they portray. And when you get there, the board that explains what offices on which floor does not include one for Chestnut Holdings. There happened to be a lady walking by that said it may be the third floor. When I found the suite, the lady never opened the door and was extremely unhelpful. She told me to do everything through their website. When I told her I was still waiting for a response from the email and request I put in, she said just continue to wait and asked me why I was going back and forth with her. I truly can’t believe companies like this exist. I’m at Housing Court currently, seeking options.
