When first making your appointment you always speak to the receptionist at any medical office. 'Bensonhurst Smiles' receptionist is really nice and calm over the phone. She doesn't rush you and you don't feel like you're bothering her. I think it's a really great resource to have a competent and kind receptionist because they are your patients first point of contact, and usually also the last.

Onto the appointment, Dr. Lau seems to be incredibly popular and so getting an appointment will be at least a month in advance. There's barely any patients in the waiting room and his office utilizes the standup X-RAY and not the multiple bite guard and positions one if you know which I'm talking about. Really love how streamlined the process is and he takes his time during the appointment to listen to your concerns and discuss all of your options. Comparatively, my previous doctor never offered me a more expensive albeit conservative approach to fixing my dental issue and so I never got a choice to the dental procedure I would like to proceed with. Medical transparency is highly important and giving your patients all of their viable options relative to cost is important and so I value that in this dentist and hope you all do too. He doesn't try to up-sell the more expensive procedure and so the decision will always be yours in the end.

Overall, both me and my partner had a great experience with our regular teeth cleanings and with my dental procedures. The office is always prompt to return our calls and Dr. Lau is always attentive and thorough with examinations and execution of work. Highly recommend this dental office to everyone I know. I found him through word of mouth from my co-worker and couldn't be happier to now have my go-to dentist for hopefully, a very long time.

It’s my first time visit. All the staffs there are very nice. Great service. Dr. Lau is very patient answering my questions even in such a busy day. Also, thisis my first time without feeling pain during teeth cleaning.

The receptionist at the front desk were extremely pleasant. The office is super clean with new furniture. Although I waited a while before I saw Dr. Lau is very apologetic and kind. He gave me clear information about my situation and worked on my teeth with diligence, no roughing which I appreciated. I will be returning back.

Dr Lau identified a small Crack in one of my teeth. This is the reason I came to see him, a slight pain in my gum area. Treatment options were discussed and I made a decision. Remove the tooth, do a bone graft and then do a dental implant. Dr Lau will do it all! One stop shopping. Permanently resolve the issue to minimize future problems. A great place to come.

My family has been with this office since 2017. We are pretty satisfied with the services so far. The receptionist has been very professional. The dentist is very nice as well.

They don't even do cleanings properly. They're suppose to take 15 minutes, but it only took less than 5 minutes. Now I have to pay out of pocket at another clinic to have it done properly. Also how are you going to have a staff team where no one speaks Chinese when the neighborhood is literally almost all Chinese residents.

Service is great, doctor friendly and helpful, but only downside is good doctors get busy and you sometimes have to wait longer

I was way overdue for a cleaning, when I started feeling some pain in my gum where I had had root canal many years ago. Marica squeezed me into the schedule, and Dr. Lau cleaned my teeth and then gave me an extra measure of time explaining what may be causing the pain, and detailing his plan of action to remedy it. In this day of "urgent care", it is almost impossible to see your primary health care professionals in an emergency. I very much appreciate how Bensonhurst Smiles responded to my need.

I had a very negative experience. The whole appointment took only five minutes, probably because he was multi-tasking/serving two other patients in the other rooms. The doctor did not even bother to clean my teeth properly, and when I needed water on a few occasions to clean blood strains from my mouth - he ignored me, again assuming ye was rushing to get to the other patients. The most disappointing factor was that when I inform him of my tooth pain, his response was I don’t see anything, maybe a root canal specialist can tell you better and he walked away telling the nurse we are done.

I wasted my time and the health insurance coverage on here. Look somewhere else.
