City Island Lobster House, Bronx NY

Highly disappointed.my waiter was very rude rushing us to order and BARELY checked on us throughout dinner. I had to clear my own table after appetizers to prepare for the main course and keep in mind my family and I (3 ppl) came here to celebrate my grandmother's 81st bday. The food was good but the customer service was bad. What upset me the most is that the waiter tried to insinuate that the total on the bill was higher than it actually was. He tried to make me pay almost $100 more for the max tip despite not giving us superb service. I frequented here often back in the day but I will no longer give this place my money and I do not recommend you do neither. I don't mind tipping anyone for services rendered but the way the waiter was indignant about how much to tip him and even made a statement about how I'm broke. Keep in mind the bill was $500, I refuse to step to his level to prove how much money I have so I tipped him $10 for my own conscious. I wish I could recall his name but I can't so the restaurant will have to take the fall for this one because they hired him.

Their portions are huge, well worth the price. Food is very tasty. I highly recommend this place.

I have to say I love Lobster House, it is my favorite restaurant in City Island. My company and I are always received with a great smile and a warm welcome. The food is always on point. Well seasoned and full of awesome flavors. The only problem I have is that my most favorite fish (sea bass) was removed from the menu. I always bragged about how amazing it was made (melted like butter in my mouth). I'm disappointed in that it's no longer served here, but anything else I choose always leaves me fully satisfied. I highly recommend you eat here if you haven't yet done so.

I went this week for my birthday. The food was bland it tasted like nothing. I ordered the steak and lobster tails and my husband got the lobster tails. Both our dishes were tasteless and for the amount of money we spent it was truly disappointing. The server was nice and the restaurant was nice. Drinks were good but food not so much. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Delicious food, well kept establishment. Great outdoor dining with a view. Plenty of seating indoors or out. Serving large portions of fresh seafood combinations. I love the broiled scallops, lobster tails & fried shrimp! And they have the best homemade fresh garlic bread! Treat yourself!

The Lobster House never disappoints! While they’re free appetizers have shrunk a bit due to inflation, still gotta love ‘em! We ordered the broiled seafood feast and lobster tails, which were gigantic. Delicious seafood at a fair price. Can’t wait to return!

Great food. The service is good. Love the free garlic bread. A little pricey.but it's seafood, so yea. But it's good and portions are great

Asides from the chowder, food was not great at all. Oysters were very questionable. Women at the table next to us were blasting music from their phones all throughout the meal.

I use to always attend here my birthday my moms and so i decided to attend for my grandmother’s 81 birthday. The guy who seated us and atayed he was the manager was very pleasant however first we recieved 2 burnt garlic breads.then diring dinnwr a pan handler that was let in was trying to sell us light up toys and nike bags (very disturbing) when waiter mad aware he said every one has to make money (horrible response) food however was good. The waiter didnt even clear the table prior to bringing her cake and whwn he wrapped it to go he forgot to even bring it back my grandmother had to ask for it. He then wrote on the bill in pen his suggested tip and circled a whole new total amount he made up. When he received only a 35 dollar tip way more than wat his service deserved he camw to the table ans nastly said i have to feed my family u dont have no money …this waa disgusting ans very unprofessional service ans all i got from the supposedly manager waa a measly sorry.

I loved this restaurant and its food. In general, it is quite large with many rooms, but it does get crowded. The attention is excellent. The appetizers on the house are plentiful and delicious, the garlic bread and butter exceptional. The wait is normal based on what you order. The Lobster Paella is super delicious and abundant, we ordered a Paella for 2 and we ate 5 and we were very satisfied. I loved it and would go back. Recommended.

I had a good time except for one thing, food was delicious, appetizers, you will receive salad, water, bread until you wait for your food, the lobster was delicious, attentive server, he even help us recommending something in the menu, friendly with my kid, he gave us more garlic bread, good job but the server had a strong smell of tobacco and it was unpleasant. I consider if you work for the food industry even if you are the server must show a neat presentation.

Came all the way from Long Island for dinner and OMG was it worth the trip! Hands down the best seafood restaurant in New York. Can’t wait to come back!

Serves the same type of food that you'd find anywhere on city island, the place is clean the food is good and the service was fantastic

First visit to City Island and it was great! The food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and the drinks were also good. We had a great view! Overall a wonderful visit! Will definitely be back!
