Claudio's Main Restaurant reviews
19Always wanted to try Claudio's and now I have. Their on the pier restaurant will be my next choice.
Iconic east end restaurant at the end of Greenport. No, it's not your grandparents Claudio's, but neither is Greenport. More chique and updated menu with good portions and taste. The outdoors dining provides a decent view of the water beyond a parking lot. Worth a try!
Such a great restaurant, with a fantastic menu, and superb view. The food was delicious (high recommend the chicken) and the staff were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was gorgeous, we loved the decor. Can't recommend Claudio's Tavern & Grill enough
Food was good, service was excellent. JEREMIAH M.
THE SERVER IS ONE FUNNY GUY.
ITS LIKE A MEAL AMD A DINNER SHOW.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AS YOUR SERVER.
HE WAS GREAT EXCEPT FOR MY BUTTER LOL.
GOT A LOBSTER ROLL AND ASK FOR EXTRA BUTTER, HE BROUGH ME WHIPPED HARD BUTTER. HE WAS HAVING A HARD DAY.
PSA for BIPOC. Avoid this place at all cost. You will never get served or even looked at but the second a white family comes in, you are immediately pushed out of everyone's mind.
Never go here. The food is a joke. The servers are given too many tables for them to handle. The food is okay at best and the portions are about as big as your fist. The Branzino cost $37 and they only give you 2 small prices of fish. Save your money. Go somewhere else.
Despite being very busy, my last visit here was great. The wait time was shorter than communicated. The lobster roll-moist; the shrimp cocktail perfectly cooked and tender; the raw oysters were fresh; and the draft beers were cold. The service was to be expected for a packed house, so savor your meal and enjoy the atmosphere.
Sitting outside in the open area right on the water, it is as good as it gets. There is a certain nostalgia about dining here, LI history, and good food!
I visited Greenport on a sunny November day with my mom to walk around and enjoy the water. We decided to stop in at Claudio’s for lunch, which is an institution in the town at this point. The restaurant was crowded, but not like the summer time, and we were able to immediately get a nice seat looking out onto the water to enjoy our food.
I ordered shrimp and grits, while my mom ordered a classic lobster roll. The grits were creamy and rich, although the portion of shrimp were meager. However, the seasoning on the dish compensated for it and I enjoyed the fresh combination of flavors, with the crunch of the tortilla chips adding a nice texture. The presentation of the dish was well done, with fresh herbs sprinkled on top of the food in a small cast iron pan.
The lobster roll was, as you would expect, delicious! With meat that was tender and sweet, and a roll buttered and toasted to perfection. We just found ourselves wishing there was more lobster to enjoy!
While the meal was pricey, the combination of delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere make it the great spot for a casual yet upscale dining experience. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
My family and I booked a reservation for Thanksgiving night. We were greeted at the door by the hostess who was friendly and shared with us how the evening worked. Dinner was buffet style and included in the price fixed dinner, drinks were extra. (Which we already knew, it was clear when we made the reservation. However, we appreciated that she clarified.) The restaurant had sweet fall decorations. Our waitress was extremely friendly, as was the rest of the staff. Everyone had a smile on their face. We were made to feel right at home. The manager came around to great all the patrons and checked on all the tables. The food was delicious! The salads were fresh and lightly dressed. The biscuits were some of the best we ever had. The turkey was moist and and the gravy was hot. The apple pie and tiramisu were great as well.
Thank you Claudio’s for making our Thanksgiving night so special.
Had not been there in 3 years was looking forward to it and was extremely disappointed! The service was horrible. I order the biscuits which were 2 for 6$ or 4for 10$, they were the size of a quarter and raw inside. The soup I order was cold and tasteless. My husband ordered a burger medium and it came almost raw. The baked clams were fishy. I usually don’t write reviews but this needed to be written. The server never came by to see if everything was ok or we needed new drinks. After bringing me the wrong soup I had to wait 10 minutes for the server to walk by to stop her and let her know. Then the correct soup came cold and inedible.
Never again! If I could give 0 stars I would. Complete waste of money
Horrible. NOT the Claudio’s you may have been to in the past. This landmark restaurant is under new ownership and horrible. After being told of an hour and a half wait despite multiple empty tables we used Open Table app and were seated in 15 minutes. Service was horrible food was worse. Very sad.
Had the Fluke, and it was delicious! Very tasty but also light. Great location in Greenport.
Wow, what a disappointment! We have been here many times before, always had a pleasant experience, unfortunately not this time.
Started out well, typical, water, order drinks and apps. My martini starter was very good but not stuffed olives but still very good. Dozen oysters were fresh, sweet, shucked perfectly. Then the afternoon went south. A group came 15 perhaps 20 minutes after us, I know our order was in first but they got served first, honestly not the end of the world, it happens. Our grandson has a dairy allergy, we made that abundantly clear, so our entrees finally arrive, all except the chicken sandwich “without mayo”. After 15 minutes we asked several of the where is the 4th entree, “yes, sorry, we will let the kitchen know. Finally after 20 minutes here comes the sandwich, yep, you guessed, mayo was on the bun, ugh. I will say the manager jumped on it and even comped the sandwich. Honestly, by then, the lunch was crushed, cancelled my second martini, don’t judge me, and asked for the check. Our waitress Gabriela T.was unapologetic, just here’s your check bye, and that was fine. It’s the final act that set my wife off. She had filled out a comments card and handed it to the hostess who graciously accepted the card bidding us a sincere (I think) goodbye and thank you for coming. In the interim my wife had gone to the rest room and while exiting overhead our lovely waitress laugh off the comment card stating it’s no big deal! Well my wife didn’t take kindly to that and let the lovely waitress know how she felt to which Gabby the heartless retorted, well I didn’t make the sandwich. Well you guys can connect the dots from there.
I realize the difficulties of finding help especially good help. Most of the staff save our gabby did a great job, gabby needs training lots of training.
Not sure I can endorse this place based on todays experience, guess you should judge for yourself just run if you get the gabbster. Peace!
My friends invited us for a boat ride from Connecticut this weekend, and it was really nice. When we pulled into the dock, I was excited to see Claudio's- had heard about the place before. I was starving, and figured I'd get some good seafood for lunch- I ordered their sampler platter for $35. Flounder, shrimp, clam strips, scallops.you know- typical fisherman's platter. Well, as soon as it was set on the table before me, my heart sank. Frozen. May as well of been Gordon's from the case at the grocery store. Lesson learned- do your research. By the way, the atmosphere was great, as was the company. So, first-world problem. But man.the food sucked.
Two stars only because the servers were good.lobster roll was rubbery from being over cooked, chicken sandwich’s which were bland and tasteless. Definitely not worth the $230 which includes 1
$10 for parking. Thinking we’ll be seeing Claudio’s on kitchen nightmares soon enough
This place has lost its charm. Food was bland, under portioned and service was sub-par.
My waitress didn’t know what “Al dente” meant.
Bring back the old menu.
Matt the valet, attempting to strong arm people into paying for free village parking on Main Street. Had talked to other stores and restaurants in the area and they all state that he has also tried to get people to pay 2 to 3 times the amount that is publicly posted.
$42 lobster roll wasn’t even average quality. Untrained but accommodating wait staff. Nice view, but that’s it. Very disappointing
New owners, new look. More expensive for VERY subpar food. Such a shame. Really loved the place and was hoping the new look/price matched the quality. Not even close. Such a disappointment. Service was also poor. Waiter kept trying to grab our plates before we finished our meal. I decided it wasn't worth keeping such an uninspiring meal and handed him my plate. Miss the old Claudio's. Unfortunately, won't be back. You should give this one a miss, too.
