Clay Handi Restaurant reviews
18Nice place to have some authentic North Western Indian/Pakistani food, good ambience, courteous service, though felt overpriced
This place charged $150 for food that was probably worth about $60-$70. The chicken kahrai in the black container cost $47.99. Chicken 65 (approximately 10 small pieces) in white container was $17.99. The beef curry also in black container cost in the $40s. I don’t mind paying for good food but the price should match the quantity. I was blown away at the outrageous amount we paid for the amount of food received.
Additionally, the restaurant failed to give us the receipt for the breakdown of the food cost. It’s not up to the customer to ask for it. It’s common courtesy to give customers their receipts which this place lacks.
Outstanding taste and service. I recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to be amazed!
Food is super delicious. We were finally able to find a place with Pakistani food taste.
Number 1 saag and makaii ki roti. I have fallen in love with it all over again.
Number 2 mutton Kuna with medium spice and its gravy is amazing.
Seekh kabab and chapal kabab were good too.oh yes the sweet lassi is a must have too.
Ambiance:
The have recently renovated so ambiance is great. The serving in traditional clay pots makes it a great feel
Price:
Prices are on the higher side.
Parking:
Free Parking available at the restaurant back.
Staff:
Waiters are not friendly. They always have new waiters and nothing different. A kind and pleasant attitude towards the customer is highly appreciated.
The ultimate experience to have Desi Indo-Pakistani food! The best of its kind we have tried so far.it is beautifully decorated and gives one an authentic cultural experience.
The place is full of surprises! They serve you in literal clay pots and get you started with some salad and snacks (generous quantities of dry fruit and fruit!). We were told that these pots were specially sourced from Pakistan and went through a rigorous FDA approval process. These pots Portions are generous can easily serve 3 people. We highly recommend the chicken handi and biryani. Breads are soft and luscious.
The staff is very warm and welcoming. One can truly feel the love and hard work with which this restaurant has been conceptualized, executed, and is been running! DEFINITELY A MUST TRY!
Variety and taste are both outstanding. Food was served in a very traditional, old style and it tasted delicious. Definitely going back there on my next NY trip!
We had good experience in this restaurant. The food was very very tasty and delicious. The restaurant is very cultured and uniquely decorated. They even have so much variety of food in their menu. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Must go to this restaurant.
Gluten and soy-free diner here. Thank you for accommodating my takeout order this past Friday evening. The boneless Chicken Karahi and Seekh Kabob were delicious. Thus, we will be back to try some different dishes.
Real authentic taste of Pakistani Halal Food.very friendly service and huge collection of clay pots.
The start 2 star’s I gave is one for their interior & another for their chai & the side service pickles, chatni they serve. That’s what I like. The most disappointing thing was service. They should work on it that’s my suggestion. Foods were just not up to the mark specially the soup. Very disappointing. Proportion was not good for price. Foods were overpriced. Not happy with the food or service. The Pakistani old lady was really good though.
Food quality was beyond and above.ample quantity - for every items we ordered.parking available.and their specialty is serving in clay pots.this was something new for me.would definitely recommend to anyone else.
Worst experience ever at this place. No value for money, no service. If you want hair mixed with the food then you can go here. So expensive, I don’t understand for what? Bathroom is so dirty, the whole restaurant smells bad. One last thing, you will be treated as if you came here to eat for free.
Bad service long wait time no respect for costumers flies flying all over the food dirty tables first time brought my family over never going back again would not recommend anyone going there
I accidentally go there it's just wasting time and bad service at all and the manager with used glasses he act like rude everytime give us hard time i wanna let you know guy's don't go there
Very expensive we ordered koyla chicken it was basic chicken kari salan these ppl need to learn how to cook n drop you prices too expensive but place looks pretty stuff is nice i like the stuff that
This place is gorgeous and has amazing food, a must visit for desis or people who like desi food
Very bad service the food wasn’t up to the mark the food was actually horrible pair 110 dollars for a garbage
Given the price I was expecting much quality food. Our paneer tikka was burnt. We also ordered paneer tikka masala and it was barely paneer tikka. Just simple paneer added to gravy. The appetizers lacked salt (I dont eat high salt but will give it everyone has different expectations). The naans made up for the below average dishes. They were soft and tasty. They also served the gravies and forgot about the naans. By the time naans arrived which we had to remind, the gravy was no longer piping hot
