Wow, what a find! Stumbled into my neighborhood store and got lost in frame design and conversation with the lovely owner. Really expanded my mind on the art that is framing and thrilled on how our collab elevated my pieces. Highly recommend!

Had a very similar experience that other patrons have had with the person at the front desk being rude. She was extremely patronizing and argued me out of the store because she said she couldn't do what I wanted, though I said MANY times that I was open to any route that helped me frame my piece, as long as it was square. She kept telling me I wouldn't budge on my vision when I kept saying that that wasn't true and I was happy to take her advice because I didn't feel beholden to a specific size of frame. I even said that budget was not a problem because I would pay whatever cost because I want to go somewhere local. Clearly they know a lot about the art of framing, but we talked in circles and it felt like she was trying to get me out of her store and twist my words. Never experienced anything like it. Went to a place in park slope that helped me immediately. Very disappointing when you want to support local businesses and they treat you poorly.

During a stroll through Union Square in New York City, I found myself captivated by a piece of art, a spontaneous purchase that led me to a remarkable framing shop, nestled in the heart of the Pratt Institute art district in Brooklyn. This Black-owned business caught my attention not only for its services but also for my desire to support local, Black-owned enterprises.

Upon entering the shop, I was greeted by an air of professionalism and warmth. The owner, a lady whose expertise in framing was immediately evident, offered more than just a service – she provided a comprehensive education in the art of framing. Her knowledge was not just impressive; it was enlightening.

As she guided me through the selection process, she shared insights into the history of framing, articulating its significance as an art form in its own right. This wasn't just a consultation; it felt like a masterclass, tailored to my newfound interest and appreciation for the craft.

The shop itself, situated amidst the vibrant Pratt Institute art district, was a testament to her expertise and the high standards required to thrive in such an artistic enclave. Her advice and recommendations were not only based on aesthetics but also on how best to preserve the integrity of the artwork.

The end result was a beautifully framed piece that exceeded my expectations. It was evident that every choice, from the materials to the style of the frame, was made with care and deep understanding of both the art and the art of framing.

In summary, this Brooklyn framing shop is a rare find – a place where passion, expertise, and a commitment to heritage and quality converge. For anyone looking to frame a cherished piece, or to simply explore the rich history of framing, this shop is a must-visit. The experience is enlightening, the service impeccable, and the outcome, nothing short of spectacular.

Customer service was mean, tried to upsell on custom prints. Didn’t answer questions. Was condescending. Frustrating customer experience.

At Clinton Hill, your work is treated very seriously. Here you can select frame, matte, and glass, to display and protect your art. And Ms Brown can offer excellent advice. You can also purchase generic frames, but the real value is in the custom products, which can harmonize to produce archival and stunning presentations.

Owner was incredibly rude and short with my partner when he went in to get a quote. She was impatient and patronizing and said that she didn’t have time to walk him through options- he was there more than an hour and a half before closing. Total waste of time and awful customer service.

Great experience for anyone looking to go beyond just framing and truly create an heirloom for their home. Ms Brown was a wonderful guide and I’m in love with the piece we created together.
