Cohen's Fashion Optical, Queens NY

Just ordered two pair of new glasses with the Cohen team which operates out of a mobile unit temporarily parked on 31st Street while the new Target is being built. This doesn’t appear to be the same franchise as the one which previously operated a store next to the Key Food store. I had a good experience with the old Cohen operation as well so I am surprised by the reviews but I also don’t use insurance. I was a little worried at first because one of my frames was the new Amazon Echo frame which I brought to them to add prescription lenses to and which required extra TLC in the use of heat. Both the Amazon Echo frame and another Calvin Klein frame I purchased onsite turned out beautifully. They fit well, look smart and stylish and they also sport a special super thin lense which I could not easily purchase with online websites. Not inexpensive but much better than the inventory I saw from online eyeglass website alternatives. The exam was fast and accurate, unlike some past experiences. Covid protocols were in place. And the optical salesperson was very nice and helpful. She took special care of my Amazon Echo frames and personally delivered them to the lab to explain the special procedures on use of heat. Very happy. I understand this franchise will be moving into a new location near the TD Bank in the Fall but the temporary mobile operation worked just fine. I also have to commend them for turning around both frames in under a week. Highly recommend.

This location allowed me to make an appointment and when I showed up it was closed and completely gutted. I called the number listed and they were aware of this but could only offer me a later appointment. I am puzzled

I walked in today and was able to see Dr. Booras right away. He was extremely thorough, patient, and kind. 10/10 would recommend anyone see him for an eye exam.

I have been going to this eye doctor and store for as long as I can remember. The doctors and staff are amazing. One of the salespeople, Georgia is very helpful, professional and is always willing to help you out as much as she can. She informs the patients about possible rebates, best way to save money etc. She first explains what's covered under your medical insurance, and then she will show you glasses based on what your budget is or what you want to look at. She will go out of.her way to help you and speed up the process. I recommend this facility to anyone who needs an eye exam, glasses or contacts. They have many choices to choose from. Thank you Georgia and Fashion Optical for always helping my family and I.

Do not go here! I canceled my order, and they STILL CHARGED ME! When I was willing to change to different frames instead, they wouldn’t refund the difference. Seems like a scam.

The receptionist was very attentive and friendly, even helped pick out the best fitted and priced glasses to fit my face! The doctor is also very on point, I went on for 26 years not knowing I had a slight astigmatism, thanks again doc! 5 star service from a fellow Astorian. (:

Not very helpful.one lady seemed pretty disinterested in helping after i said i only wanted an exam and not glasses (aka less money for them). One young hispanic girl was nice though and tried to be helpful even though she couldnt.place didnt seem very nice (poor lighting, no customers, tiny optometrist office) and the optometrist didn't even say hello while i was waiting to be helped.not up to the same standard i've come to expect from other cohen's locations

Beware! Do not purchase from this store! Called for a copy of my prescription. Lady that answered phone was so rude. Did not provide me with any help. Copy of receipt I received previously did not contain the full information. I wonder if they have been giving me the wrong RX. Very unprofessional!

First time there and realized one of the girls i remember from steinway location super helpful not pushy very informative great customer service. Doctor was friendly patient answered all my questions def a location i will go back to yearly

The lady in the front has an attitude. But besides that she was nice and gave me a very formidable details on how to get my voucher. Thank you. Ms attitude lady lol

Terrible! I have never been so angry. I only needed a simple eye exam. They messed up my appointment TWICE. First, they claimed my insurance wasn't valid (which was not true) and wouldn't take me, and the second they told me the wrong time for my apt, and the doctor wouldn't take me. Clearly they don't actually want patients.

The optometrist here did a good job with my eye exam. Previously my prescription for estigmatism was a little off even though I had it checked a couple of times, but this doctor got it just right. The people at the counter adjusted my frames for free even though I didn't buy them at Cohen's and they replaced my lenses within a couple of days. They did try to sell me those weird anti-glare lenses that the chains always try to push, but other than that it was a good experience.
