Columbus Park reviews
15Was lucky enough to be here when the man came around to close the park. His wit, and ability to project were impressive to say the least.
Took son here during New York visit. There were small 7-man soccer goals with nets and two larger ones without. However, there was a guy who had his dog loose here the second time we visited the park.
A nice, quiet green space to sit and relax in Chinatown. Got in some good conversation and people watching, and no one else really bothered us at all. Could certainly sit here for a while and just take it all in.
Columbus Park is a little gem. My first visit here and I enjoyed the community feel. Children were playing soccer, others playing instruments and folks were just relaxed. There is plenty of seating and public restrooms.
A must-see on your Chinatown tour. Despite its small size, the park has a lot of greenery and is a nice oasis and shelter from the hustle and bustle of the streets of the Chinese district. The sight of old Chinese people playing mahjong is unbeatable.
Met great people. Everyone is welcome here. Everyone does their sport, is open to others and friendly.
An immersion in China as China as possible, imagine a park of pensioners who:
They sing Chinese folk songs
They eat and drink Chinese tea
They play mahjong
They speak Chinese
They live Chinese
They are Chinese.a park where you can eat tamplin taken at the entrance to Chinatown in China.
GREAT AREA FOR CALISTHENICS ATHELETES!
Good gathering spot for elderly as well. There are nice views of the surrounding area and the whole place is very lively and has great energy. Park is usually open all the time. Would recommend this hidden gem near Chinatown NYC
The Chinese community in action. You can come sit for a while and watch how they play Chinese checkers, cards, sing or even dance. A place that undoubtedly allows you to be in touch with their customs. An important meeting point for this community. It is worth visiting, if you are on a walk in the Chinese neighborhood. Are there bathrooms! Many will find it dirty, but unfortunately, this is New York, not very clean! However, it is worth visiting
Super park very exotic with small concerts and mah-jong players.also ideal for children thanks to its play structures. And there are also toilets.
If you want to hear some authentic Chinese music, this is the place to go!
I really enjoyed the various musicians at the park, it was lovely. Grab a good cup of Tea from any of the surrounding restaurants and take a seat at a bench in the park, bring your kids or Dogs, and you are in for a treat.
Columbus Park is a great place to hang out and people watch. Nicely maintained park space in Chinatown that makes you feel like you could be in another country. When we came here in the early afternoon on a weekday, there were people playing Chinese instruments, socializing, and sitting around playing mahjong and other traditional games. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.
Get rid of the smokers and the potheads and any and every park is worth spending time in. This one is an amazing respite from the hullabaloo of Chinatown without being separate from it.
So neat and clean, even restroom too. All the scenery and Statue are nice photo ops. Flowers are amazing and smell wonderful too!
It's a pretty busy park, with lots of probably retired people who like to play games and music. Very lively.
