Comfort Inn Manhattan - Midtown West, New York NY

Aah it's a tough one. On the plus side the location isn't bad being so close to Times Square. That being said it is still quite a walk when you have suitcases.
I echo what others say about the small rooms. I have no issue with this as we didn't spend much time in the hotel it is simply somewhere to sleep and shower. But they could make the rooms so much better.
Get rid of the waste of space desk. No one goes to work in the hotel, we don't need a desk we needed somewhere to put our suitcases.
Take the fridge and microwave off the floor and put them on a shelf so we don't have to kneel down to use. Or honestly get rid of them!
Have some hooks on the walls to hang coats, and some better shelves to put things.
Re-hang the bathroom door so it opens outwards so you dont have to climb over the toilet to exit the room.
Basic, simple changes would make a huge improvement.

On the plus side, the bed was great!

Breakfast is a disgrace! They have four tables for all the guests. There is space for more so unsure why they haven't added more. People were having to eat off their lap while perched on a bench. This isn't on, it really is not fair for paying guests.
The food selection isn't the best and eating from paper plates with plastic cutlery is naff! Needs serious improment!

Okay to get off. Unfortunately only one elevator, which broke down once on the 3-day trip. The toilet was blocked once and was immediately cleared again. Beds were comfortable, lots of pillows.

Pros: inexpensive, prepay worked as expected. Cons: front desk was consistently abandoned for long periods at night, and front door to building requires a key to enter. Got back to the hotel one night 5 minutes after they locked the door only to discover my key had stopped working; nobody manning the phone or the desk meant I was first trapped outside the interior door to the lobby for 30 minutes, then was unable to get into my room once a fellow guest let me in. Then checked out super early in the morning; forgot an item in my room and was unable to retrieve it because again, front desk abandoned. Not worth it.

Rooms were small, but you’re in NYC what do you expect. They were clean and slept fine every night (what matters most to me). Breakfast was horrible (hotel breakfast what do you expect - not why we booked this hotel lol). Location was great. Our only complaint was NO wifi. We had read reviews that said the wifi was slow - it’s slow in the lobby, but in the rooms it doesn’t WORK. Literally no wifi (coming from Canada, we were relying on the wifi). Would book again, and just deal with the lack of wifi I guess.

My family, two teenagers 15 & 13 spent 9 night in total here in August 2023. It’s a 3 star hotel. We had two rooms next to each other, a twin and a king double.

The beds were very comfortable and warm. The shower was hot and powerful. The location is brilliant, right in Hell’s Kitchen. Perfect for food and drinks on an evening.

We had a selection of cereals, waffles,
toast, bagels, eggs, fruit and yoghurt with juice and coffee each morning included. The breakfast area is small but we never had a problem finding a quick seat or taking it back to our room. Can’t complain for free. It saved us lots of money. There’s 24/7 free water from a machine and coffees also.

We found the staff to be attentive and friendly on reception and topping the breakfast items up.

The only reason I didn’t give it another star was the poor Wi-Fi speed. It was deadly slow in the room. Teenagers these days need to be online and my husband does work often. We used our data bundle instead.

Would recommend if location is important to you.

We stayed at this location because it is so close to the cruise terminal. The lady at the front desk named Fatima, was amazing and really made us feel at home! Would definitely stay again!

Very hardworking staff specially miss Rehana on reception.very kind person.help us to guide us places to visit nearby. Good Job keep it up.we highly recommend.

Hotel location is Ok but staff (Fatima) is so rude. Service is very poor as the door access card reader was not working and every time front desk had to come to open the door but they couldn’t change the room. They don’t have much option in breakfast. I could have booked the better hotel for same price.

Unpleasant welcome upon our arrival, taking of bank card details even though everything had already been paid for six months. The breakfast is a disaster, not at all what one expects from a hotel of this standard and as already noted in other reviews, the room is too small.
One day the cleaning is not done.
The Asian staff are very friendly and try their best to improve the hotel experience.
Water pressure problems for the shower quite unpleasant.
Initially, they agree to store your luggage and order you a taxi which is an Uber more expensive than the yellow taxis.
Not really a good experience with this hotel.
