Commonpoint Queens' Central Queens (Formerly known as Central Queens Y) reviews
17If I can give 0 star I would definitely give the front desk lady is very rude and they are very biased towards minorities they don’t provide you the right information. They pretend to be busy and make you wait even though there is no one. The area is very unhygienic.the restroom are very dirty. Common point should train their staff more they are very unwelcoming.
My son comes here once a week for a swimming class. They have policy that parents cannot observe their kids during the lesson. PARENTS SHOULD HAVE A RIGHT TO STAY DURING THE LESSON. We pay money for those classes. So, they are ok to take money. But not ok for parents staying inside throughout the lesson. It's so wrong on so many levels!
DONT GO HERE TO GET LIFEGUARD CERTIFIED. I went to get recertified and one of the guys who worked there told me that i only had to take a written test. I was young so i did not know that it was a scam. I got a job working somewhere else and my boss was looking at my certification and there was no barcode on it which meant that it was not a valid cert. They are scammersssss. They charged me over $100 for it
Very nice fun actives and affordable but the place is not the best mangeaged I asked for the wifi password and they gave me there phone number and it didn't work. They also don't have a lot of spaces in there programs kids Korner I had to sign up for is before the summer of school started
My Child comes here for the pre - k program and enrichment as well. The head teacher has not clue on what is going on in the classroom. Not only that but when emergencies happen the school does not answer the phone. They leave the kids if they have an accident with out underwear. This is bad for Hygiene and very comfortable for the kids. As an assistant Director at a preschool myself I know the rules and regulations. You would think in situations the teacher and school would contact parents to prevent measures BUT THEY DO NOT. I also send extra clothes they loose it. They also send the kids dirty with out cleaning faces or anything. BUT DO NOT HESITATE TO CHARGE EVERY MONTH. I WILL DEFINITELY COMPLAINT WITH THE DOE AND DOH. The teacher also finds an excuse when she does not even know when certain things happen. This is very horrible for a school.
Great place for kids. Many activities, staff is ok. Used to be much better. New management seems to be making changes. We'll see what happens.
I had the gym membership here and used it until the facilities started getting too crowded with other members also not following gym and locker rules and I was uncomfortable with that due to the pandemic, so I put the account on freeze hoping things will change in the future. This was back in July and I was told I wouldn't be charged and I can come back anytime. It has been an absolute nightmare since then chasing and emailing them as they have continually charged me while telling me every month that they fixed it and they will refund me. This went on until December until I had to change my credit card info just to get them to stop charging me all the while being told they fixed it and will refund me. I still have not gotten my money back and am now being ignored on my last email. I am still owed multiple months of membership fees they have been charging my card for.
If you use this place as a gym/swimming facility, the main good thing about it, is the affordability. All the rest is pretty much not too good. For one thing, it is sometime hard to know when it is open, and when it is closed. It can close without any notice. Another thing is that the people working there are in general not very friendly. Today, about 20 minutes before 9: 00pm (the closing time is for sure after 9: 00PM), the cleaning guy told me the shower in men's locker room was closed, so I had to go home to take a shower. I guess because it is so affordable, then we cannot ask too much about its quality.
This has been my nightmare. I regret joining this facility. I just came a month and decided to discontinue. This was around July. From August they have been randomly charging me around $47 to $43 on monthly basis. I have been trying to reach them daily but they don't reply. Their answer is that they have no idea. I have been speaking with Ashley and Sofia now toady they say they cant help so I have to speak with Rory. Now they say I have been under the senior category charges n I am just 37. I am so frustrated and angry. I give zero star to them
I was able to obtain free legal assistance through CommonPoint Queens. My representative assisted me with my hearing for SSD & I was approved! This was life changing! I am incredibly grateful to them!
My son was registered for the mini camp and he absolutely loved it! The counselors Natasha, Max and Jason were so wonderful with my son and I believe there are other counselors but I can’t remember their names. I apologize for not mentioning your names. And Sean was an amazing leader there, as well. I totally felt safe and confident that my son was in good hands. The counselors and Sean were very good with my son. We hope to return next summer! Adam and Dale were great with their support as well as I registered my son and any questions in between. Thank you so much for all the support you gave my son, Michael! ~Lidia
I attended an event located at the boutique, Commonpoint Closet. The staff there were extremely helpful and knowledge about formal attire. I learned what burgundy was, different types of patterns on the suit jacket, different styles such as Italian fit. The staff was also extremely patient to help me choose the best suit possible. I spent approximately three to four hours here and as we found better fitting suits, we were able to swap easily too. I definitely recommend anyone to come and experience the knowledge and service that the staff offered here.
I was volunteering at this center everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend to come shop and volunteer.
Nasty stuff. Felt discriminated. Can't believe that in the current environment there are still places like that.
Does any one can share about swimming lessons at this location for adults?
I would appreciate some reviews about it, thank you
Starting with the positives this Y has a extensive series of social and cultural programs for everyone from new born's to seniors. They also have many athletic classes and teams, using their small exercise room, a large pool and a gym. Its a not for profit for organization and membership is less than most gyms.
On the negative side, the Y closes on 9 PM, which is a problem if you work out or swim after work, especially since they start throwing you out at 8: 45. I joined a local gym as I often had to rush to complete my workout. In general and in particular in terms of registration for classes, the Y is somewhat disorganized.
Mean, creepy staff. It is degrading to come here
and be treated like vermin.
There are still one or two nice staffers, but too many
are under the illusion that they are royalty and the
customer is to be spat on. Unless the customer
speaks Russian, of course.
