Consulate General of Croatia reviews
16The consular staff here are great. They helped me with my citizenship application and were very respectful, prompt, and knowledgeable.
Incredible staff! Extremely grateful for all their guidance, support and hard work in getting my citizenship. Hvala puno
Those people working there are ciminals; State department will be knocking at their doors and sending em
back to their sxhole villages!
For anyone here seeking actual professional help, call embassy in DC, they are very aware of these knuckleheads on little bottom feeder visas!
I have been calling the official phone for a month, during the period when calls are received from parties, and no one picks up the phone. I also sent an email. There is no way for me to get in touch with them and solve my problem. Apparently they are on vacation all year round. Can someone from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs check their (non) work and help citizens abroad?
Does anyone work here? Called during business hours, many times over past few weeks no answer ever! They work as if they are Montenegrins.if a man goes crazy, God forbid something is urgent.
The customer service was outstanding. I was pleased with the help I received from this office. They went above and beyond to help me put my documents together.
All payments are by money order only. Its best to email the office and let them know exactly what you need. They respond quickly.
Polite, pleasant and informative!
I am surprised at how rude and unprofessional the Croatian counsel is in NYC. I have a lot of business in Los Angeles and they are always professional and respectful. The consulate in Chicago is very helpful too.
I suggest that If you have any questions and need help resolving issues, call the Croatian Embassy in Washington DC; they answer the phone and are diplomatic.
If you do need to go to the Croatian counsel in NYC be prepared for a rude and unprofessional experience.
Cannot express my appreciation more for the officer who helped me with my tourist visa application. The guy who worked there was incredibly helpful, patient, efficient, and courteous throughout the process. His professionalism has made my experience hassle-free and I got my Schengen visa back on the same day (I travel a lot and have applied for Schengen visa tons of times but I’ve never got the visa done in one day) Thank you so much to the consulate officers for their outstanding support!
They reply in croatian, even if you address em in english. Then they mention things you never asked about and avoid the actual question. Their accent is awful, they ask million PERSONAL questions rather than just doing their job. Very primitive
I am blown away how unprofessional and disrespectful this woman is! Refused to give me information on documents I requested, gave false information (that I cannot renew passport at this consulate and its only done via croatia) : disrespected me for not addressing her in the language she preffered: basically saying unless you speak croatian, you are not croatian!? Insisted that email for general questions must be your first n last name (!?) just ignorant and deranged! She yells like a maniac, does not let you speak or ask anything and discriminates: definitley a criminal! I will most definitley file where it matters, alert the embassy and those who hire this "Lidia" character! She clearly forgot what country she is in!
Lidija is hands-down the most empathetic and helpful consul officer I have ever worked with. She worked relentlessly to make sure that I got my Schengen visa right in time for my trip, despite a delay and the consulate being bogged down by an influx of applications. She worked patiently with me to resolve the issue, and I couldn’t be more grateful. She’s truly the top of her class. I’m also impressed with her colleague Irena, who made sure to update me regularly via email. While I do hope that the foreign ministry of Croatia gets better at processing visas faster, these two women are total professional powerhouses holding the fort down in New York City. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
Does anyone work at this consulate? I've been calling for three weeks now and no one answers.
Can you update the phone number is not working. It's very difficult to contact anyone here. I'm giving a 4 star for a chance to correct this issue.
Extremely pleasant and smooth experience applying for visa here. Very friendly and professional staff. Extremely efficient. Great communication. Five stars.
They were EXTREMELY kind in helping my daughter and I!
I’m adding a new review having been back to the embassy: Irena and Lidija couldn’t be kinder, or more helpful. We’ve corresponded by email as well which, through their very busy schedules, they respond to. I’m old enough to remember the old guard that was there in the 80s and 90s and thank goodness they are gone. Remembering that they are crazy busy, so give them time to correspond, don’t be afraid to reach out to either of them as they will try to help the best they can to accommodate you.
I’m extremely happy that we have them here…professional and very helpful. Thank you Irena!
