Consulate General of the Philippines reviews
17Our first time to go here and renew a passport, all was organized. Appointment must be booked online. Staff are respectful and nice. Wait time is not that much long but it was smooth that we finished less than 30 minutes as long as all documents required are complete.
So frustrated, very hard to contact SSS office! Voicemail very much NOT accurate! 0 if there is!
There is no one on the phone to answer people’s inquiries. Unable to address questions online either.
The elevator has been out of service. Too bad for the seniors and the the disabled.
It's hard to reached the PCG NY when inquiring some important documents to processed. When you call their contact number, there is no support staff or customer agent that will help you unless you emailed them but they wont answer your email or queries immediately, it will take a couple of days before you got a response. There system is very inconvenient since you can't reached them right away.
The process for Dual Citizenship was very quick. Just make sure to make your appointments early on the New York Philippine Consulate Website. After processing, you do the oath taking shortly before noon.
The last time I went to the Embassy was 5 years ago and it was so crowded. I’m so glad now everything is by appointment. Today, 11/25/2022, I had my dual citizenship process. It took a few hours between the documents checking and paying fees. Everyone/staff are friendly, professional and helpful. With the same day, I sworn in and got back my Filipino citizenship! Hep hep hurray! Mabuhay!
They disrespect me when I was there doing my renewal when I csll them they just hang up on me
I visited the Consulate last year but didn’t actually have any appointment or official transaction to do. But I thought the location is very good and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
Being that it is now by appointment, the place doesn’t get crowded. The two men at the front desk were very nice and respectful. Everything went smoothly it was worth my day off. Thank you
No one should be spoken to with disrespect when you’re doing a transaction especially in the office of Consulate General of the Philippines. I wish I could say good things about this place, but I couldn’t. Passport application at window 3 treated us with utter disrespect. We had an error on a questionnaire and he without hesitation spoke to us in a very unprofessional manner. He asked sarcastically if we walked from the Philippines to America when we mistakenly answered NO to a YES answer. He was also pointing his red pen on and off on my answer. I felt so belittled, embarrassed because he was clearly upset, like scolding me because of that. The moment we were on window 3, when he called us by just his right hand to come to him, no courtesy whatsoever, the way he was on checking our documents was a disgrace. I don’t know his name as he doesn’t have any ID. I was shocked because I’ve never encountered something like that. Just because I’m applying to have a passport doesn’t mean I can be treated so indifferently. I thought it was going to be a nice experience because I love the PhilippInes with all my heart and yet… the guy in window 3 about a week ago easily made us feel low. Seems like he don’t care how his words could affect to passport applicants like me.
I got my dual citizenship today.it was very easy and the people there were very accommodating even when i had some missing things.the only problem i had was getting an appointment because it was annoying.i tried multiple times to secure an appointment at exactly 9pm, but no dates would show up.
The team here is fast and courteous. Very organized too. Got everything that I needed to get done in less than an hour. You'll need an appointment for most services. And brush up on your Tagalog cuz they test you. Lol. Joke Lang.
Going to this place to get things done is very similar to going to DMV or even worse. Everyone is so rude, they don’t know how to show a little respect and act very unprofessional.
Nakakainis na ito! Araw araw na ginawa ng Diyos nagpi-fill out ako ng appointment sa newyorkpcg.org per the instruction of the consular office website only to find out at the end na wala palang appointment.at wala man lang common courtesy na i notify ka kung
mag open sila ng slots for more appointments. Para ke pa na sa sasabihing gumawa ng appointment online.it is misleading.am a busy person, too.parang full time job ko na ang gumagawa ng appt.araw araw and at the same time keep calling the SSS office in 556 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY, DESPERATELY, at Ext *2025. The phone kept ringing (and it's not a U. S.and Philippine holiday). At the 11th ring an outgoing vm said,
"the party you have called is not available. " That's it? It doesn't prompt you to leave a message.ridiculous!
Does the SSS office even exist or just a show.it's a waste of time to keep contacting this office. Do something if you don't have the manpower to serve
My wife finally gets an appointment after trying for a long time and having her first appointment rescheduled only for it to happen again after I bought her tickets to NYC and she was there. That is unacceptable, and we are owed compensation for that. If you cannot honor an appointment twice, then you're pathetic, dishonest, and flat out bad. I hope this is the last time she has to deal with this pathetic place
Was there to get my dual, i think it was quick, right on time and organized.as long as you make an appointment, you'll be fine. The one processed my papers was very nice and very efficient. The only things is the place definitely need an upgrade, they need to spruce it up coz it looks like an old muggy office in the PI. The lobby looks nice but needs to have a lounge or chairs for waiting
I went to Philippines embassy New York, to notarized my SPA. Last April 12, but until now I didn’t receive my notarized papers by mailed. Today is April 29. And when I asked thru e mail they reply to me that my envelope was lost. And who is liable for that?
