Convivium Osteria reviews
16The food is good but the new waitress is HORRIBLE! We’ve waited for our pasta for more than 50 mins and not once she came to check on us or to let us know what’s going on. It seems like she doesn’t want to be there at all and doesn’t want to even talk to customers.
The owners of this restaurant allow for a hostile work environment. They allow their chef to be verbally abusive towards the rest of the staff and do nothing about it. Why support a restaurant that DOES NOT support and protect their workers from this mistreatment? It’s a HARD NO for me.
Tried the ravioli and lasagna - both really delicious! This spot is a gem - great food, great atmosphere and friendly service.
The food is ok, good. The inconvenient is the service, the girl server is not good, we asked for drinks or something to drink without alcohol, she don't know what serve.she only offered us cokes.and we waited for almost 50 minutes for three simple dishes.nothing extravagant, the place was empty, no busy.
Long time waiting for the food, waiting for attention and.
The service and attention is important even when the restaurant is located in a good area.
The food is good, tasty.
The food were ok. Rabbit takes like/looks like drumstick and I didn’t like a fruit taste in ravioli because it’s my main and not my desert. Lastly and mostly, I didn’t like they charge 25 percent service fee added into the bill for 4 adult table.
The food really wasn’t good at all. I hate to write a bad review but for what I paid I really expected more or at least a little flavor. It’s unfortunate.
I've been going to Convivium since they opened almost 20 years ago. The food and atmosphere has been top quality since then.
Underwhelming. Had the ravioli, lasagna, rabbit, octopus, shrimp, and sea bass (fish of the day). The ravioli was especially confusing - being very sweet yet ladled with Bolognese made it unclear whether it was a main course or a dessert. The sea bass was well cooked, however, lacked sufficient seasoning. The rabbit was somewhat dry and tough. Lasagna was nothing to write home about. Overall, had higher expectations, though the atmosphere was very cozy and romantic.
Dinner with coworkers before the holiday. Exceptional food, great atomosphere. Dimly lit, but cozy. Seating was comfortable for our party of 6. Highly recommended!
We recently noticed the Convivium Osteria's well lit & inviting outdoor seating & decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. From venue, to offerings, & service all was excellent. We ordered Risotto Al Frutti Di Mare & Tagliatelle pasta with prosciutto & pecorino cheese melted on top. Drinks we ordered FRATE SCALZO - Rye Whisky, Vin Santo, Orange Blossom Tea, Lemon Juice, Rosemary Sprig. Dessert we ordered Crème Brule. Delish! Our waiter was attentive & his recommendation was on pointe. The owner & chef checked on his guests to make sure everyone was happy. Looking forward to our next visit.
I stumbled upon this place and had one of the best authentic Italian dishes of my life. The parpadelle in a veal ragu is absolutely delicious. The wine is perfect with a meat and cheese board and the staff is very sweet and welcoming.
My partner and I enjoyed exceptional service on the night we went. The waiter answered all our questions and explained the menu offerings while making their personal recommendations. Stuck between deciding on the ravioli or the rabbit, they even offered to switch the dish should I not find it to my liking. Everything was delicious (I didn't make the switch) and we got to enjoy it all in the lovely outdoor seating area. The menu has some truly unique offerings and I urge you to try something new. I don't think you can go wrong here.
Three trips to the Friuli region recently cancelled! Luckily a trip to Brooklyn to visit our daughter brought us a step closer to Italy. Real authentic Italian dishes offered and all of ours were delicious. No picture of the polenta with oyster mushrooms & taleggio cheese but it was incredible. Looks like we will be visiting Our daughter more often.

Myself and boyfriend attempted to try this restaurant yesterday evening. While approaching the restaurant we noticed a empty table away from the sidewalk and proceeded to try to sit down. We were approached by the service waiter who told us that the seats we picked can only be used by parties for 3 or more. Due to the limit of we must sit on the sidewalk. Due to walking traffic on the sidewalk, Our-preference was to sit in the seats we originally picked{Street box} (this was voiced 3 times nicely) as genuinely expressed our requested.
The service waiter did not want to make the accommodation to our preference at all and choose to continue to say that we could not sit in the seating arrangement we originally wanted. We chose to leave due to the uncomfortable nature of his tone. On our way back to our car we noticed that two young white women were sitting there peacefully enjoying dinner, At the same table we told we could not sit at.
Honestly black community please be mindful of tones and micro aggressions as you attempt to dine out. If you do nor feel welcome take your money elsewhere as we are still dealing with discriminatory practices.
Me and my Girlfriend were really looking forward to eating at this restaurant today unfortunately due to the actions of the restaurant we didn’t get that chance
The waiter used micro aggressions at me to get us to leave told us that the table was reserved for parties of 3 or more but there was literally no one there
What prompted me to make this review was the fact that when we passed back to got to my car there was two Caucasian women sitting in the same seats we had requested
It truly sad that even in 2020 and In A pandemic you’re still dealing with prejudice. If you’re a Black person please don’t dine here they don’t want your money
I had the best time dining al fresco during Covid. Convivium has by far the most beautiful outdoor seating. My family and I have just moved to park slope from the UWS and this restaurant is a gem in NYC. Food is spectacular! Service is so friendly. Angel makes you feel at home and has a very subtle way to help you with wine choices. I can’t wait to come back.
