Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Chelsea reviews
18Had an enjoyable stay. The only issue I had was not being able to get the TV in the room to connect to the internet.
Staff was extremely friendly. The location was ideal for all the things I needed to do. I could walk to most of them in 15min or less.
I can’t believe the stay I booked for me and my fiancés for her birthday. The people working were unbelievably rude, did not care about us coming in on our time of check in. I nicely shed if there was any upgrade because of the card/benefits and I got the most rude answer no… I spent $600 plus for one night and I couldn’t great a better room booking almost a month in a advance and with my Amex card. I even had to pay for everything on top off that so almost a $1,000 ONE night stay to be treated like this and not to get anything out of intl it was her birthday so I wanted to surprise her and I got this straight garbage of everything. Got treated like nothing and got nothing in return. From this hotel area or everything, don’t go her. I’m telling you you’ll be treated like straight trash. Don’t believe me, I’ll sow you….
The rooms here were larger than others I read about. Location is great. Close to everything. People were friendly.
The rooms are decent and it's in a great location. Carlo at the breakfast bistro is an incredible superstar. My check-in was smooth but there was a rather grumpy reception staff at check out. I pointed out a billing error during check-out and it was corrected but no apology was offered. I was derided/talked down to ask for asking a clarification on the invoice.
Perfect hotel if you are going to Madison Square Garden, 2 blocks. Staff is always friendly, rooms are clean. My favorite place to stay.
Amazing front desk attention! TIM really made a difference! Also Brian. Thank you both! Thank you so much! Rooms were nice, comfy beds, soundproof walls! Wonderful location, right in middle of Manhattan!
We stayed here for a week, our first time in NYC. We LOVED the location, it was a 5min walk to the Penn Station subway terminal- which can get you anywhere in the city. The room was clean and serviced nicely everyday. The two men that worked at the morning coffee bar were the best! Super friendly and remembered our orders each morning! Only slight annoyance was that only 2 out of the 3 elevators worked so we often had to wait quite a while to go up/down.
Overall my experience here was fine. The people at the desk weren't particularly friendly or helpful and the room was old and adequate. I know the location is why it was $600 per night but I expect at least updated bedding for that price.
I stayed for one night and it was wonderful. All the receptionists at the front desk were so sweet and professional. The hotel was clean and organized. Will definitely recommend!
2 rating for this property - especially given it’s $450/night. Also would have appreciated being told at check-in they were having work done on the building - very loud work all day.
The Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Chelsea is the perfect hotel for your city trip to New York City.
It impresses with spacious rooms and excellent cleanliness.
It also has a nice dining area with included Starbucks.
In addition, it has an optimal location in a safe area, close to Penn Station.
For the price and location, a really difficult value to beat. Timothy at the front desk was very welcoming upon arrival! Room was ready early, and the noon checkout was really nice considering most hotels these days are 11am. Would recommend and will be back!
Disappointing for a Courtyard by Marriott property. PLUS: location one block and a half from Penn Station and MSG. Free WiFi. That’s about it MINUS: No bathroom counter space at all and no extra shelves or surface space in bathroom for your toiletries bag or makeup bag. Toilet base was wobbly and ceramic tops is toilet tank also wobbly. Bath towels really thin and worn; should be replaced. Really low quality towels like you’d get at a 1-star motel. Bed sheets were clean but there were a few black spots as though they had been stepped on with shoe footprints, then washed but still can make out that they were permanent soiled. Housekeeping shouldn’t use the sheets even though they had been laundered. Spend your money elsewhere; so many other hotel choices in midtown. Hugely disappointed as a Marriott Bonvoy member. Won’t recommend this hotel and won’t stay here again.
Found dirty towel on top of bathroom door and plastic paper between desk and the wall when I first got in the room. Confronted the manager to move me to a better room or give me breakfast credit, but was rejected both. Manager refused to talk to me and see me. I was talking via a front desk employee to the manager. Very unprofessional. Not a single apology was made.
Great Courtyard location with excellent service. Room was clean and modern with walk in shower. Staff was cheerful and ready to help with any issues.
Nice hotel, clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Good access to public transportation, but I opted to walk. Times square and then walked twice down to the WTC
I was on a business trip to NY and I booked this hotel since it was close to work and I prefer marriott always. I was very disappointed with the hotel since I got bed bug bites. I stayed in Room 1014 for 2 night, I saw rashes couple of days after my stay. I got my house checked and it was clean and the only place I visited was this hotel. I would check the beds if you guys are staying there.
