Courtyard by Marriott Poughkeepsie reviews
17Great hotel. Very modern. Would have given 5 stars but they have fake news CNN on in their lobby. Please get rid of that for the benefit of people’s sanity!
Excellent staff. Every staff member was so kind and accommodating. Great costumer services!
The pool was closed, the location is not great, the sheets not okay and they charged us more on our credit card - when we called they could not explain us why.
New clean rooms. Friendly staff! Rates do fluctuate quite a bit and during peak times weekend occupancy fills up fast so, plan accordingly!
TV did not work, would not call front desk because phone did not work. Called on cell phone - on hold 5 minutes, gave up and walked to front desk. Three staff members standing BSing while I was on hold. At 2 am VERY LOUD party next door. Since phone did not work, had to get out of bed, dressed and walk to the front desk. Asked if they every walked the hallways to check on noise. They said you cannot hear the noise from hallway? Not true. I could hear it very plainly in the hall. Check in was poor and breakfast was free and overpriced.
Why would this hotel have homeless people living there? Now that I know that I will never rent from that hotel. As a titanium member I expect these hotels to be clean and free from any potential crimes.
Too many homeless people housed at hotel. Recent shooting by Two homeless “guests” prove this point. Who paid for their stay?
This location seems like an older structure but well kept! The rooms look remodeled and well appointed my suite had two rooms and a large shower which I prefer, however like older hotels not all rooms are easily accessible from the lobby. I had to drive all tye way around the building to be able to get in a door with an elevator access and then walk all the way to the other side to my room. On the good note the service from the front desk was very friendly and efficient. My major disappointment was that their bar and bistro are still closed at night and I had to settle for canned drinks from their store and the dreaded Uber eats delivery!
I contacted customer service one week ago to get my invoice and I still haven’t heard back from the hotel…
Platinum Elite Marriott member here, which means we’ve been to a lot of these. Well, this one wasn’t great. The walls are pretty thin here, more so than any hotel I’ve been to before. We woke up to some guys having a conversation next door. What really frustrated us was the night before when we ordered a blanket for the sofa bed. The bed hasn’t been made inside the sofa, which was a first for us. We called down and asked for one, but an hour passed and nothing. The main bed felt like an old mattress with a silly-thick mattress cover on it. Then, I was greeted by a cantaloupe fruit cup for $7.50 the next morning. Around 9AM housekeeping knocked on our door asking when we were leaving. We didn’t waste time doing so!
Renovated and better than the other Marriott nearby even though it’s much smaller rooms. The common space is nice to hang out in. Also better than the Hyatt nearby also.
Loved it room was very clean, bed was so comfy, AC was on blast and curtain kept out the sun light also it’s near Jersey Mikes and Smoothie King
Been a long time Marriott member and fan. I’ve stayed here 3 times too many. Each time I’ve regretted it, with two stays during understandable Covid interrupted renovations. But when you have guests still paying the $170 a night step up your game and do little things better. Friendlier staff, bottomless offerings of water, voucher for a Starbucks, complimentary fruit. None of it but unwelcoming and uncomfortable stay overs. Room keys don’t work, mobile keys don’t work, toilets don’t flush, staff is totally unmotivated, unapologetic and it only enhances the irritating nature of your stay. Way too many options available to business travels in this area. There won’t be a 4th stay here.
We went to stay there for a wedding over the weekend. The room we had was newly renovated and was very clean. Very nice shower with glass doors, not a shower curtain. The bed was firm and AC worked perfectly!
The lobby was nice with comfortable seating, tv screens, fire place and a view of their green space/garden (?)
They didn't have the restaurant available but had snacks and microwaveable food. There are a lot of restaurants in the area for takeout or delivery. Would definitely stay there again!
Accidentally left my watch on the table when I left for check out. When I realized my mistake, I returned to pick it up. Unfortunately, the cleaning staff had already gone through the room and my watch was magically missing. I know exactly where I left it and unfortunately it seems to have made it into the pocket of someone on staff.
The reception staff was fantastic, very welcoming and even got us an early check-in. The room itself was tidy, clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was fabulous. However, very, very, very thin walls. I could here our neighbours conversations and was woken up early by them after attending a wedding! Also, was disappointed that they did not come to make the beds during our stay or carry out any cleaning of the room.
The location is fine, as with a lot of America it would have been better to have a car but Ubers did work there.
It was a basic hotel, there is one cafe that is only open for breakfast but there is a small shop and there are places to eat in the neighbouring areas.
For the price I would have expected a little more, but was an OK stay and there were definitely no showstoppers.
3.5 star hotel. The rooms were nice but you couldn't walk in the courtyard during the winter and the pool wasn't open plus the walls are thin. I heard the couple next to me yell at there kids all night
