Cradle of Aviation Museum reviews
17I haven't been here for years and had forgotten how interesting this museum is. So much information about Long Island's important role in the beginnings of aviation.
Lots of very neat aviation and space memorabilia. Builds well off the key roll Long Island had in aviation over the ages, along with roll in space program. Real mission ready LM that never flew, among lots of great artifacts.
Educational and so interesting! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and knew how to engage the students. Great field trip!
This place was amazing, I loved seeing the flight simulators and the JetBlue replica seats along with the merch shop and the Pan Am Museum
Very educational museum with lots of hands on activities. Good tour that shows the progression of flight from the early years of paper and wood planes, to propeller planes, to the jet age, and the space age. IMAX theater has an entertaining film. Gift shop has freeze dried ice cream and lots of other goodies.
We went there for a planetarium show today and it was pretty good. The show was titled, "The unknown universe". It was informative and impressive. The screen was large and almost surrounded the entire dome shaped structure. There was a 10 minute introductory video about the scale and distance of the universe. The audience is transported light years away from earth to explore 2 exoplanets. This part was geared towards a young audience. The main feature however, was very serious and a little boring. Although it was pretty impressive at times, I would've recommended it for younger children.
Such a good place! I went here on monday/ april 10 2023 with my school! Such a fun place'i rate it 55 if i could 10/5
A “educational” attraction that hosts an event for someone very anti-education. Was gonna go back this summer, but never will again! Trash!
Some interesting exhibits, the imax was incredibly amateur. It's best for young children. There's a playroom for very young kids.
Fascinating museum celebrating the significant contributions of Long Island to aerospace history. In fact, most of the planes exhibited here were manufactured in Long Island. A particular highlight are the lunar landing modules from the Apollo mission also manufactured here. Many interactive exhibits that allow visitors to get close to the "action". I also enjoyed the separate section on the history of Pan Am Airways.
Will never return or recommend this museum after they hosted Ron DeSantis. Disgusting behavior from what should be an impartial community space.
Hi, perhaps a museum, which is essentially a place of history and education ought not host a forum being conducted by someone who is opposed to accurate history and education?
Just sayin'
I must acknowledge that I wasn't expecting anything super interesting that haven't seen before. But this museum is unbelievable! Every section caught our attention and we loved the fact that you could seat inside the planes and the helicopter. My kids and I had a blast! Definitely recommended!
I am disappointed in the museum for hosting Desantis and giving him a space to spout his hate-filled rhetoric. The Cradle was a place that educates and celebrates innovation. Now they are renting a space to a governor who bans books and limits curriculum in schools.
This is like a much smaller version of the Hayden Planetarium
Not bad, but they can use some more exciting programs in the Sky Jet Dome
Great place to make a weekend fun with the kids. There is a lot to see, and upstairs, they have a bunch of old arcades, which was awesome. I recommend it for kids and adults.
I’ve been here multiple times over a span of 5 years. It’s always a great time. Exhibits are cool, prices are good, and staff are very nice.
