Crunch Fitness - 59th Street reviews
17I love this gym, been a member for a years. There is however a big problem with members using thier cell phones on the gym floor and taking over equipment way to long!
Last Thursday was my first time taking cycling class there. They didn’t provide clip on shoes for the class. I slip off and sprinkled my ankle during the class due to the shoes not attached to paddle tightly. The class room is 2 floors down in the basement. There was no clear indication on where the elevator is. I slowly half jump half walk with my painful ankle to ask for help. But no one seem to care. No one provide ice. Finally a cleaning guy told me where the elevator but he direct me to only 1 level up. Again, I walked with my painful ankle to the desk and no one care. The guy at the desk did not help, just told me to go back to the elevator but I have no idea which floor is the street level. I took to a hospital level and walk around again with painful ankle. Someone in the hospital there direct me to the street level! I will never go back to this gym again. It can only access by stairs, no proper equipment provide and no help if injured!
One of the better Crunchs in Manhattan. I come for the equipment. This one has almost all the equipment i need for my back day so i will likely make this location my gym for that. When i went it was quiet and not overcrowded and you’re not on top of each other like some other locations. U can get lost inside. No signs but good gym no complaints
Not sure why I’m staying with crunch with an overcrowded floor and trainers that straight up take your weights off the equipment you are using without asking. That or they take up 2 sides of the cable machine for multiple work outs. The chin/dip machine has been broken for months and the steam is now closed indefinitely? Better off forking out the extra $100 for Equinox at this point.
This review is for Alinne A who does sweat shed, Zumba and many more classes at crunch. She is the most amazing group instructor, I love all her classes and make sure to sign in in advance. Her energy is AMAZING! I never was a gym person but after attending few of her classes I’m addicted! Love love love ️
I love their fitness classes! Any classes Aimee G.teaches I try to take (though sometimes I have to work). She's an amazing teacher and makes everyone feel at home! If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't even have a crunch membership!
Crunch has really disappointed me lately.the quality of the gym is not the best for the membership that is quiet overpriced. The closing hour is too early while other gyms are fully open with longer hours. Its called "signature" but you have broken tiles in the men's shower not to mention they recently closed the Steam room which was one of the amenities of joining. Better of going to Blink at this point. Save yourself 100$ a month.
Spacious and clean facility with a great personal training program. I’ve been working with Jammy for about 6 months and seen amazing results when it comes to my confidence in and out of the gym, as well as my overall strength and posture. She understands my goals and keeps them in mind when formulating all my workouts. Couldn’t recommend more!
Had a one time, one-on-one session with a trainer named Dan to advise on what I can do to work through a knee injury i had. He was very knowledgable, helpful, and he seemed to genuinely want to help me get what I needed out of our session. Solid dude. If i could do personal training regularly i’d go with him. Thanks Dan.
Update: I confused this with crunch 54th!
Yes! This location has both steam room and sauna. They also have theragun stations which is really nice.
They also recently added new dead lift platforms. I'd say easily that this is one of the better crunch signatures.
What could be better: Woodway threadmills please! Also, there are certain parts of the gym that feels dated. The steam room has broken tiles and smells bad.
But overall, this is a really great location!
Nice because it has more amenities than your usual crunch gym, but just remember to bring your own lock for the lockers here
Hands down my favorite gym in the city. Great value, super clean and all the "toys" you could ever need
The machines are clean, friendly staff, and spacious. If you’re a fan of the steam room, this gym is not for you. The white tiles are falling off, the grout filling looks/are dirty (brownish), and it has a dirty smell. Also, the monthly bill vary for each member. I have a few friends who has the same membership as me, and pay differently!
I have photos of the steam room. Will post later.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Signed up for a free three day guest pass on the corporate site met with Justin and he told me unless I’m very serious and will meet back with about signing up for sure that he shouldn’t let me work out even and that he wasn’t going to honor the three day guest pass. I informed him he was being rude and he told me to go work out. This is not how you get people to sign up for your gyms. No tour nothing just awful. Also attached the three day pass offered right now on this locations website.
Feeling inspired after talking to trainer Lucy.
Will come to visit next week and switch membership from blink
I was at this venue this morning, unfortunately, I could not use the Steamroom or the sauna, because they were too dirty. The steamroom stinks horrible and it looks super dirty the floor is old and dirty, and what to say about the showers, the dirty glass and the floor too, the only thing good were the machines
Amazing space.
My favorite crunch in Manhattan!
Wide open gym floor. Lots of equipment and space to work out. Plenty of cardio machines.
Huge open locker room. Big steamroom and sauna.
Lots of showers. Clean and very attentive cleaning staff.
