Crunch Fitness - Tribeca reviews
18Solid gym. Have come here a bunch and it's usually not too crowded the times I've come. The gym and facilities are generally clean, and the staff is very friendly.
When you frequent the 59th street location, coming to this one feels like going to Planet Fitness. So small and crowded and you gotta wait for every single machine. If you’re not coming in down hours, skip this one and go to a bigger location.
The yoga mats are cleaned weekly. The facility is clean and fresh towels are always available.
Unfortunately, sometimes when equipments break down, it takes a while before it is repaired.
Clean gym but nothing is ever put away properly. Plan to spend time looking for equipment.
Everyone was very friendly and willing to help. 4 stars only because there weren’t any smith machines.
I give this location a 4 because it’s one of the better crunch gyms but there’s a couple downsides- there are 3 floors plus a mezzanine which is brutal after leg day they have woodway treadmills but only 4 of them- I’ve never had an issue trying to get one but I don’t go during peak hours typically. The weights area is nice
Gets the job done.seems to have a culture of not putting your weights back, which is annoying.the employees can’t be bothered to do it either.they’re too busy doing absolutely nothing.
Nice location only thing I don’t like is the fact that the ellipticals here are very diff from the ones at other locations they don’t have the traditional one also the showers here have curtains not doors and the curtains don’t fully cover the space other than that no complaints
Hard to contact the manager for help once you became a member.they don’t respond to your emails!
Nicer clientele then other locations by far much chiller of an environment still too much for what you get though
I love this gym.clean with a lot of options for gym equipment. Erin is incredibly friendly and she actually motivated me to take a chance and come in. Which it was closer to home I'd be there more often.
Love this location. Doesn’t get super busy. Lots of weights and equipment. Favorite part of the gym is the sauna and steam room. They provide towels as well.
Staff is rude and gym is outdated. I often feel like staff is annoyed when I enter. I switched to a blink membership nearby, staff is super friendly and makes me feel welcomed every time I enter.
Edit: if you would like proof on how this crunch handles their clients, please read the rude reply left by crunch to my review.
Facilities were good. No complaints. I just don't like how they do business. I went there to do one day pass and the lady who showed me around persuaded me join the club because they were offering promotion. I told her I needed to check another gym before I made a decision. She compared the membership fees and said Tribeca is cheaper because of the promotion. She also said she didn't know if the other gym was offering the same promotion. I learned it was so obvious all the crunch fitness centers offered the same promotion because I found it on the first page of the website. It is impossible she didn’t know that. As I wanted to check another branch, she kept asking me to join all gym access membership, which is more expensive. She also said the other gym is lower tier than Tribeca one. I checked the gym yesterday and found out it was newer, cleaner, and much more spacious. I decided to join the other one. I think each branch compete each other or employees get commission or something when they bring people. But, I was really upset after I did little bit research and found out she lied to me. Hope this doesn't happen again.
Very spacious and clean space. 3 different floors with great layouts. Usually empty around 3pm and 10am
It's usually empty and I like how clean it is but the one drawback for me is that 25 dollar guest fee. For economics sake I pay 80 a month (which is od I know) to have access to any crunch, their towels, their showers and sauna - but now since covid hit I don't go to any other crunch and I can't use their auxillary benefits. In comparison you can go to blink for 20 dollars and bring one guest free whenever - see the math discrepancy? It's a nice facility but the cost to benefit ratio during a pandemic is absolutely not worth it. Like I'm not going to pay 25 dollars every time my dad wants to go but I know my dad won't go by himself to justify paying 60 a month for his membership.
Crunch Tribeca is a well maintained three story gym. I joined shortly after they reopened after being shutdown for covid. They are taking the cleaning, social distancing and mask wearing very seriously. You get your temperature checked when you arrive and you scan yourself in and out to avoid contact with staff members. There are plenty of cleaning stations around the gym for you to clean your equipment before and after use. Everyone is mandated to wear masks and to keep them on at all times. This hasn’t been a problem for anyone because this isn’t Florida. I feel very safe and comfortable at this gym and I’m so happy I joined!
Just joined this month. Enjoying all the equipment and facilities. Had an amazing personal training session with Shaheem today! Would recommend him to any of my friends. He corrected my form in a lot of vital exercises and helped me outline a plan for training. Big fan of this gym
