It's good to have options for rental houses, so when ARC didn't have something I needed, I rented from CSI once in the past and it was fine. But the last time I was here for a rental, the experience left a lot to be desired.
1) The staff (over the phone and in person) was not very friendly. They acted like it was a burden to answer a couple questions.
2) The lens I rented, an 80-400 Nikon was very clunky and needed repair. Terrible AF, zoom/focus rings felt like they had sand in them. It should not have even been in the rental inventory. Shame on me for not testing it out BEFORE I gave them my credit card, but this was very disappointing. I didn't even use it for the entire rental period after the 2 minutes of initial mounting on my D850.3) Upon return of the lens, I expressed these concerns to the person at the counter and he basically just rolled his eyes at me as if I was crazy.
Not completely writing off CSI, but this last transaction left a bad taste in my mouth. $100+ wasted for nothing.
