CTown Supermarkets reviews
16I used to like this supermarket because fresh vegetables. However I bought this organic lemon bottle juice and the best before date was December 26,2022. I bought it on February 17th, 2023. They should put the price cheaper if the date is old. Some people mentioned already that they put expired products in the store so maybe this supermarket doesn't care about customers at all. Also I don't have a point card but maybe cashiers might collect them according to the receipt. I recommend you to check the expiration date when you shop at this supermarket.
This CTown has definite been altered from other CTown to fit the area of town it is located. The grocery is pricier than other Ctowns. However this is a well stocked and organized CTown. There is a lot of food options for different dietary requirements. Won’t hurt to shop here if you live close by.
Delusional. Egregious. Probably Illegal. If you enjoy ~25% markups on everything, this is your place! I constantly have to correct prices with the cashier at the register because they enjoy overcharging hard working people.
This place needs to be investigated for price gouging.
Check the expiration dates! I have found so many times a lot of things on the shelves are expired. They are so over priced and this store is soooo dirty. For a bottle of vinegar it’s $6 where I can buy this at target for $2/3 and have it shipped for free. Also they advertise things like they are on “sale” but the price isn’t different than the original tag. Which is usually more expensive than other places as well! Definitely not worth spending your money at. They also seem to employ the unfriendliest people. Especially at the check out. Only shop here if I have too. Whole Foods is much better quality with better prices.
Have had more than a few products expired/rotten. And the prices can be a complete rip off. Frustratingly bad supermarket.
Best place to buy Kombucha, it’s always on sale. Line always moves fast. The fruit sometimes is not the best.
Many MANY mismarked prices and already expensive basic groceries. If you do not keep your eye on the cash register, you WILL be overpaying for incorrect pricing. Beware.
Do yourself a favor and hop on the L train and go to a Trader Joe’s. Everything here is overpriced and 3/4 of the time the produce looks rotted. This is no reflection on the workers here who are nice but you can get better prices elsewhere.
Update-was going to give more stars as it’s improved a bit since they put more $ into the store after Covid but I am keeping this review as is because of their recent ban on coupons. In a time when grocery prices have skyrocketed and people have a hard enough time paying for things is when they choose to ban coupons that can help save their customers money. I never had a problem in the past so not sure what’s going on. Luckily there is a harvest market down the street that is priced similarly but the people are very nice and they accept manufacturers coupons.
Original review- i have no idea how they have higher prices than Whole Foods as the quality, choices and freshness is sub par at best. The people who work there are the only nice thing about the store. They could have such a nice space if it was taken care of properly.
Pretty much as expensive as if you started grocery shopping at your local deli. Shameful prices
I live very close but try to avoid it. There are always a few blatantly expired products on the shelves, or those with torn/compromised packaging. These are not hidden away at the back of shelves but on full display, like the two photos I just took. The range of products and prices is average, but more important is the disregard for basic food safety and the well-being of your customers.
I usually shop at my local CTown in Williamsburg Brooklyn, I like this place, however, the seem to lack many items I'm looking for.
Best supermarket growing up! Every CTown is different and this is the bougie version. Expect some hipster variety among regular supermarket items. Some even are good for certain lifestyle diets like Keto and Paleo so kudos for inclusivity
Crown in the Williamsburg area has fresh food friendly customer service and a great atmosphere.
Very often this place offering spoiled products. Doublecheck if you don’t want to have a bad mood after you find it at home.
Honestly shocked looking at the other reviews.been there today - cashier told me "hello", "have a nice day", all that jazz.the store has everything and more.great variety and freshness, their premade section? - iconic.best grocery store in the neighborhood, such weird reviews honestly
