Curry In a Hurry reviews
16I haven’t been here in years. Despite the rough look of the place the food was pretty delicious. I got the vegan platter with the chickpeas and the mixed veg. It also came with rice and naan bread. It was amazing and I enjoyed it very much!
This is one of my favorite Indian/Pakistani restaurants. I really enjoy coming here because their foods are the best in NYC. I have brought several of my friends to eat and they've said, " it was some of the best Indian food they've had.
Lots of different options cooked hot in front of you. Guys behind the counter were very sweet.
It's passable, for Manhattan I suppose. Their curries are decent but what really grinds my gears is their samosa.
In Queens, they know how to make a veggie samosa much better (and for less cost). Theirs has hardly any filling! It's practically all pastry that's as tough as old boots. It's a ludicrous display, really
Great neighborhood spot. The food here is great.always fresh and the quality is always solid.also the people that work here are incredibly sweet.
I ordered saag paneer which had no paneer in it. I also wasnt given rice, so basically a cup of blended spinach and even that was bland and not good.
Excellent mango lassi and fresh naan.
Saag paneer portion was a little small but tasty.
Was looking out for an Indian restaurant in NYC, and came across this place. Tried few dishes in this restaurant and it was so amazing. The chicken biryani is very tasty and truly authentic. Chicken curry and tandoor was also great. The price is reasonable too in a place like Manhattan. The staff is friendly and service is very fast. Did not dine out here, only take out. I now kind of repeatedly visit this place.
SUMMARY: Amazing food, incredibly affordable, nice seating, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Eat here NOW!
Imma be honest, I have no idea what I ate here. I went with my uncle and let him order for me. All I remember was that I had rice, with pita bread, cauliflower, and this chicken in creamy sauce. The food was indeed bussin'. I devoured all my food and some of my uncle's too. Everything was so incredibly affordable. I understand that this food in India would only be a coupe dollars. But even with my expectations for prices in this country, ESPECIALLY this city, I was surprised with just how affordable the prices of the food is. They also offer a huge variety of food which is awesome. The seating situation is really nice too. After you get your food on a tray, you walk up the stairs and pick a table. I personally really like the tables right next to the big window. I walk past this restaurant all the time and as random as it sounds, the window is just so iconic. The staff was incredibly friendly as well. I've read some reviews saying that the staff was rude and unfriendly, but I didn't get any of that when I went. These reviews came in around the time this establishment changed management, so I think probably the negative reviews were just used to the previous workers. I also noticed that a lot of the staff was quite young. It's just a guess, but I think maybe these customers were not used to the laid back and chill attitude from younger people. That being said though, the staff was just overall amazing, patient, and helpful. I can't believe I've been living in this area my entire life and have only just now tried this place. I'm looking forward to going here again, and I will try to update my review with a more descriptive review of what I specifically ate.
5 stars don’t come easy but the name says it all. Quality and fresh curry! Great welcoming service behind the counter and always fresh naan with goat curry to go. What a great place.
Service was very friendly and helpful. Food tasted great. Veggie and beef samosas were well seasoned and very flavorful, the crust was crispy. Chicken tikka masala tasted great and the chicken was tender.
Still the best in NYC, whether you're in a hurry or not. Keeping it real Ahmed Chowdry!
What happened to this place? Employees used to be the kindest and now they are very unfriendly. Prices went up. Taste went down. Must be new owners doing a very bad job. How sad, I have been coming here 20 years.
Eponymous place lives up to its name. Fast, fresh, delicious. Mostly for take-out, although self-service seating is available upstairs and outdoors. Good selection of continually changing dishes although standard items are usually available. Excellent prices. Recommended.
Rudeness at it best.that young dude at the register was absolutely POS. Don't recommend this place at all
I am so sad to leave this review. I used to LOVE Curry in a Hurry. New owners are extremely unfriendly and the quality of the recipes has gone downhill while the prices have gone up. Way way up. The inflated prices would be fine if the new staff were not so rude. The old staff was so kind.what a bummer.
