I highly recommend this experience if you are seeking a first class, family-friendly way to really experience NY and all it has to offer. I contacted Cliff to book a last minute private tour of NY city for our family of 5. He was very accommodating and quickly called back to confirm. We were assigned Marta as our tour guide and she exceeded our expectations. She asked us a few questions and created an itinerary that allowed us to see many places in a 5-hour tour. The tour started on time and ended at the exact time we requested. My personal favorite was Brooklyn Heights and the stunning views of lower Manhattan from the other side of the East River. Marta shared a lot of fun facts, history, and was able to answer all of our questions. My kids loved the quick stop at Economy Candy and our visit to NYFD ladder 8 to see where the original Ghostbusters movies was filmed.

Took Cliff's private tour and was very disappointed. Prior to the tour, the morning of the tour to, and during the tour, we discussed our must-see stops, such as the 9/11 Memorial, the Vessel, the Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, and others. However, we missed most of these and instead visited sites we had told Cliff we had already seen or had no interest in. Cliff outsources his drivers and buses, so we were unable to eat, drink, or have snacks in the vans. For lunch, we wanted to have a quick stop somewhere since we couldn't do a pickup or fast service. So, on Cliff's recommendation, we had lunch at his mediocre authentic Italian restaurant just to see his old picture on the wall. The food at the restaurant was mediocre, and we wasted over 1 1/2 hours there when we could have visited other places much faster. Moreover, Cliff's commentary mostly revolved around how he was the best and how we should be grateful and give a big tip to the driver (really him). However, when we tipped the driver, Cliff also asked for a tip. Cliff knew I was paying for the trip but tactlessly went over charges in front of my group. Throughout the day, Cliff failed to point out and discuss important sites, instead focusing on non NY-related info and working to maximize his tip. If you're unfamiliar with the city and its attractions, this tour might be okay, but having experienced many group and private tours, I can confidently say that this was the worst. For several people on the tour who were visiting NYC for the first time and hoping to see the must-see sights, wasting the day on nonsense and visiting unwanted places was a costly mistake. Also he will be filling your day with off color jokes that no one thinks is funny.

Cliff's tour was a once in a lifetime experience. His knowledge of New York City, his life experience that he shared with us, and his sense of humor provided us with an unforgettable tour of the Big Apple.

If you get the opportunity to experience New York City with Cliff Strome take it, you won't regret it and you will be smiling the whole time you're with him. Shoutout to our amazing chauffeur Bin who navigated the city so well.

I will be returning to NYC in the future and will be sure to take another tour with Cliff as there is still so much to experience here.

Cliff was nothing short of AMAZING! If you are visiting New York and want a thorough, knowledgeable, and fun experience you have found the right place. We loved that our tour was completely customizable as we had interest in lower Manhattan, East River and Statue of Liberty for this particular journey. Michael, Jecenia and Alex had a blast. We can’t wait to book another tour and explore different parts of the city! Cliff’s private drivers were also professional and the car impeccable. We had ourselves a memorable day and look forward to being in touch to plan our next NYC adventure. However, until then we will enjoy all of the knowledge and beautiful photos Cliff gifted to us. Just what we wanted. We had specific things we wanted to see and our tour was customized for this. We also added a few things “on the fly” which turned out to be very memorable. Overall it was a great day and we’d do it again (and hope we can!).

We had a very nice time in NY on the tour with our big family! We all got to see something of interest to us, have pizza, and laugh and just enjoy ourselves and let someone else worry about getting around town. Our driver was always very kind.

Our family had a wonderful private tour of New York City. Cliff was our tour guide - wonderful experience. If you want to see NYC from a beautiful, private van with a knowledge and entertaining host, Cliff is your man.
(Note: Our family were aged 2 - 70.good for all ages.)

Tour was excellent and even started a little early as they arrived and we were ready. My family consisted of 9 and one was only 6 and it was very well
planed out and we were able to get out where we wanted and accommodated bathroom stops as well as provided much interesting facts by Cliff,
our guide. He took pictures, asked questions as well as answered ours, besides adding humor to our tour! I loved Grand Central Station as never been there before. Highly recommend this tour company!

I wanted to book a private tour for our family trip to NYC. I reach out to Custom and Private New York tours and spoke with Cliff. He was pleasant at first on the phone. Then I heard a women in the background telling him what to say to me. Then when I asked him about pricing he got really defensive and told me to look for another company that is cheaper and he hung up on me. He was very very rude and expressed terrible customer service. I am very capable of paying the price for the tour but grateful I saved my money did not book with them.

We had one full day in NYC over Spring Break. I reached out to Custom & Private Tours NYC and spoke with Cliff. I told him what we were looking for and he listened and provided an amazing private tour of Manhattan! Our family was extremely pleased! Thank you Cliff!

Great fun first exposure to NYC. Was like touring with a family friend. Thoughtful and continued to try and make the tour and trip great EVEN AFTER the tour.
Mixed family, many first time New York City visitors, some from as far away as Alaska. Used it as our first full day get a taste of the city and used it to help plan the rest. His stories, quirkiness, and knowledge maybe it way better than a sit on a bus tour. Best way to tour NYC.legend has it:)
My wife it also mobility impaired and he was able to adjust and let her see lots.
I liked the quirky out of the way stuff (ie the tiny locksmith shop), 14 year old liked the candy store, father in law liked the architecture.and on.
His suggestion for a photo stop was the 2nd best picture we took on the trip. Finally he is/was an amazing photographer and his pictures are beautiful and his book is funny (wish I read it BEFORE the tour:)

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Cliff! Our granddaughter is interested in attending NYU and was touring the city for the first time. Cliff not only showed us all the usual highlights but also made sure to include specifics on how to get around the city, navigate the subway, as well as low cost/no cost entertainment options for undergrads! He also showed her where to find THE BEST PIZZA in the city! Thanks again for everything, Cliff!
