I took my two sons to WestMed and after three visits we are never going back!

They use an outdated phone system to make appointments and speak with doctors, which results in a call back many hours later and risk for phone tag (which happened every time to me, bringing me back to front desk and leaving multiple messages for doctors). Frankly, this is not safe for parents needing medical attention for their children. When I brought this up with the staff at WestMed they agreed and said no one is happy with the system. One would think they would prioritize better care and communication for children! Beyond my understanding.

We arrived for my son’s flu shot and their office messed up, so we had to leave with no shot. Traveling there with two kids 4 and 1 and being turned away because of their error was very frustrating! They were not service minded and I left upset.

Finally, they made the transition process as a new patient from Manhattan who moved to Harrison very challenging. They didn’t give proper information on how to transfer a patient to Dr. Cohen and only to hear months later that I needed to submit more information. Unprofessional!

In summary, disorganized office, very hard to make appointments and once you show up for an appointment- don’t trust that they will give you care. Just warning other parents so you don’t also waste your time. All my mom friends recommended Rye Brook pediatrics and they welcomed us much more organized and professional. Thank you.

Amazing Pediatrician! Very thorough, compationate and does a great job communicating with the kids. My son is 8 yrs old and has been with Dr. Cohen since he was born.
