David Williams Funeral home was entrusted with the care of earthly remains and services for three of my family members. I can not in honesty say any of the services personally provided by this Funeral Home were ever a problem. However be mindful that not every encounter in life is going to be perfect or favorable and that includes funerals. There are always margins of errors that sometimes are truly out of our human hands. I will say that if there is a problem the first thing to do is to make the staff know about it immediately. For example, I voiced my displeasure regarding a particular issue regarding a service offered by the Funeral Home at the hands of a outside vendor and in 48 hours it was resolved.

Very often it’s not what we say it’s how we say it. Always lead with the truth and respect. The staff makes themselves more than accessible and accommodating to families as they navigate this very difficult process. Although you may not agree, the staff has dealt with hundreds of grieving families throughout the years and they are not numb to the emotions as they too have walked this road in their lives. My advice is simply this: make a list of what the families expectations are, keep pertinent family members in the loop (as much as possible), before making hasty decisions approach the initial meeting as an interview as no one is a good fit for everyone. After choosing a funeral home, any revisions that are needed should be presented to the Funeral Home Staff during the process and not hours before the service.

Having gone through this several times I make it a point to read everything even the small print before signing and get a copy for for my records. Be mindful as far as refunds: Generally in New York you have 72 hours to cancel a contract. However the Funeral Home will do it’s best to work with you on a refund on a case by case basis. With outside vendors it can be very difficult to get the funds refunded after the 72 hour period. Vendors often frown on giving back money after the 72 hours have expired.

My first conversation with Mr. Williams immediately relieved me of all the anxiety and grief associated with the loss my Husband of 41 years. They walked me through the process and assured all would be expedited accordingly. I knew then we were in good hands. I was comfortable asking questions and staff was always available and accommodating. Just as he was recommended to me, I will do the same for others; knowing they will be equally, if not more satisfied than I. Thank you for the wonderful job.
