David's Café reviews
11This place is a hidden gem in the east village. If you haven’t been here you must try the burger - it’s definitely one of the best I’ve ever had in New York. Good brunch spot overall as well!
Steak and eggs were great! French fries were cool too. Drinks were pretty bad. Wait was deceptive. Service was super rushed. So definitely a roller coaster of an experience! Dine at your risk!
Great food, love to have brunch here. Have traveled an hour for it before & would do so again.
Was told 15 minutes but ended up waiting outside for an hour for poor drinks, mid service, but great food. So 3 stars i guess.
Good good but waited 45 minutes for a table after making a reservation a week prior. Perhaps making this a walk in spot (if you’re not going to honor reservations) would be best.
Such a nice and cozy place with Good Food and Good Service.
Ordered Eggs Benedict, Eggs and Cheese as well as a Mushroom Omelette…
Every item was tasty and flavorful.
The service was very good and they were kind and hospitable.
There’s a lot of good items on the menu so definitely going back for more…
Service was really bad. One of my friend is vegetarian so she asked to swab bacon with avocado, the server rudely denied and said we have to charge for it separately which is not ok but its fine however, i dined here before covid and absolutely loved it, definitely was a disappointment this time. I ordered the crab cake benedict, it tasted nothing like before. Maybe the owner has changed but i sadly dont suggest this place for brunch anymore
Went last weekend and the service was great. Our waitress was super sweet and the food was good. Love the fries. Only knocked off one start cause the pancakes had a weird bitter after taste.
Burger and fries were delicious. My only issue was with plating - fries tasted good but could have been roasted to a lovely brown (these look barely out of the fryer). Burger was delicious but the cheese hadn’t even melted when it arrived.
In the city where we eat with our eyes, it could use some work. But taste was good.
Delicious! A welcoming warm little spot with a unique French American menu.
The Crab Cake and slaw is a delicious and savory opener. A perfect bite combines salt, fat, acid, and heat when paired with the accompanying lemon and chive aioli. I asked for some to take home with my leftovers; a side of crisp airy Sweet Potato fries.
My entree was the Salmon, lightly fried, over a bed of chunky home-y Ratatouille topped with an arugula onion salad with a light, slightly sweet vinagrette. Each component individually amazing, and in combination exquisite.
I can't wait to try the rest of the menu! I will definitely be back.
Thank you Nate for attending to me. To the back of house for a job well done. A round on me!
