Tibetan Restaurant dawa's reviews
18I discovered that restaurant hazardously and now I keep coming back. The staff is very welcoming but mostly the food is divine. I really appreciate a place where they have everything it needs but stay simple. 5 stars!
Loved the food, decor and everything about this place. Thanks for the great service Kyonsan!
I love the chicken moms and also the brunch French toast is so wonderful. Its such a lovely spot with really nice staff. You feel like mom and pop vibe.
Love this Woodside spot. Nice cozy environment and people. The food is delicious and has that home made preparation and care. Just about perfect and well balanced spot. Check it out.
Sorry to say! This place used to be my fav but we experienced bad food quality.
The pork was so bad that my friend vomited!
Such great authentic food in a really cozy atmosphere! I really enjoyed this spot and they have two menus - one for the authentic Himalayan food, and one that’s more American. We got a bunch of different plates to share amongst three people and loved all of it.
The service was very nice, the waitress were really cute and kind with us but I didn’t like the food. Not for me, but my boyfriend liked it. The portions were kinda small for me.
This place is a gem. Food was incredibly delicious!
From the Tibetan menu, we tried the hand pulled noodle stew, stirfry noodles, beef dumplings (momo) and potato pancakes.
Each item was really incredible - beef stew was subtle and gingery with a lovely light broth. I've had momo a few times, these were the best I've had by far, and the sauce was awesome. Stirfried noodles also were delicious - lots of bits of chicken and veggie, with a nice pepper-y flavor. The potato pancakes were good, but might not order those again as other things were on another level.
I also tried a cappuccino and french toast with berries and cream, which are from their "general" non Tibetan lunch menu, they've also got a dinner one I've yet to try. Gotta say french toast was also super good, and it was a killer cappuccino.
Lastly, service was great and the decorations were subtle and made a cozy atmosphere - also a fan of the Tibetan music they were playing, it was a great vibe!
This is one of those places I rarely run into where I go in without any expectations and just am blown away. I will definitely be back to try the dinner menu and some of the cocktails, which also looked quite nice (saw a yuzu / sake martini on there!?)
This restaurant has been on my list forever, I finally made it from Williamsburg. It’s a cute place.
It’s clean and cozy. I had high expectations but the beef noodles really turned me off. The other dishes are good.
I gave 3 stars for this experience and want to come back and try other dishes with tempting pictures.
Yea maybe check online for the pictures before ordering! If I saw the pic of that noodle I wouldn’t order it.
Will update my notes here after my next visit.
Exactly what you want. A beautiful cozy place with delicious dumplings and surprisingly decent cold brew coffee. I will be back to eat the rest of the menu.
My favorite restaurant in Sunnyside. Top 5 in all of Queens in my opinion. These authentic Himalayan dishes have some of the best sauces on the planet. My favorites are the momos and the Chana Gwaramari They have a ton of vegetarian options, some gluten free, and plenty for the kiddos (e.g. Pancakes and french toast). Also tons of Finback craft beers and specialty drinks
The food here is always a great experience.
They have delicious wines and beers that pair beautifully with the amazing flavors you will be served here. I highly recommend.
One of my favorite places to dine-in and takeouts in Sunnyside. This hamalayan fusion place has a cozy atmosphere and plenty of delicious options for vegetarians and vegans too. I have tried both their meat and non-meat options such as Shabaley, Tsel-baley, Chilli Cauliflower, and the momos. Love the neem Maragaritas too!
Delicious! Came a few days ago when they had a limited menu bc of a gas issue but it was still a great experience! Great place for date night and good food, drinks, and good service! Get the pork chili—- SO GOOD.
Have been here twice this month and everything on the menu is delicious! I highly recommend the chicken momos as well as the burger and chicken sandwich.
If I was rich, I would probably eat here a minimum of 10 times a month. I feel like i am eating works of beautiful art, the flavors are very clean and sharp, and i feel my hp increase threefolds like in a videogame.
Dawa's is one of my best restaurent whenever I crave for Himalayan food. Customer service is top notch. They have outdoor seating available. Their food is very delicious. Servers are customers oriented. Overall great restaurent with great food and great service.
Update: have visited Here lots of times. Quality of food and customer service is still the best.
