Days Inn by Wyndham Canastota//Verona reviews
16 I had a non-smoking room (115). As a severe asthmatic, I am highly reactive to the smell of cigarette smoke. When we opened the room, there was an overwhelming odor of smoke, which immediately triggered an asthma attack.
I informed the front desk, and asked for the room to be deodorized. She sprayed the room, and it was tolerable. The next morning, we left for the hospital, returning in the evening.
Again, we were overwhelmed by the smoke smell. It appears to have permeated the curtains, and walls. Suggest a deep cleaning in room 115.
I paid $186.99 per night for this substandard room, and this is the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
I would appreciate if you would consider pro-rating my daily cost as compensation for the inherent health issues (multiple asthma attacks) that I suffered due to this room not being a non-smoking room as I was promised.
If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.
The room conditions were all disgusting (we rented 4 x 2 nights). I honestly don't get how there are any reviews above a 1 unless there are hidden rooms we don't know about. Missing outlet covers, no smoke detector, broken security latch, falling shower curtain rod, heater/ac packed with dust/crud, ALL baseboard trim dirt stained, sticky floors, rocking toilet, sink towel rail broken, outlet and switches dirty, build up of crumbs under desk, handrail in shower broken off leaving hole in the enclosure. Everything is filthy except the actually bedsheet/pillow cases they change between guests. All this for $140 x 8 non refundable days/nights. On the positive side, no obvious bedbug droppings. Staff was very pleasant.
Nice place to say. Overall, I'd say the price could be a little cheaper for what you get. Continental breakfast was just cereal and granola bars which could've definitely been better for what you pay to stay there. However, there is a Dunkin' right next door which is convenient for other breakfast options. Rooms and hotel interior very up to date. Overall, very pleasant stay and would recommend for someone traveling on a budget. Lastly, no bugs and felt safe at hotel.
I feel 1 star is too generous for this property!
Dirty, outdated, over priced for accommodations, no way would I touch food at this location!
Wasn't sure it was even open when I pulled into the overgrown parking area.
Was concerned for my security and safety of vehicle will on property. Would have chosen another option if I hadn't prepaid and wasn't too late to look for another hotel!
Great place to stay. Rooms are clean and offer a microwave, small refrigerator, desk, cabinets, and obviously a bed or two, depending on what you are looking for. They also have handicap accessible rooms for those who need them. I used one once as it was the only room available. I can add they are more spacious than non handicap rooms. I am a day cab truck driver, I have stayed here multiple times over the past few months and there is a big parking lot to park your truck or RV if you need this feature.
Also, there is a Dunkin' Donuts right next to it for a quick breakfast and coffee.

I am on motorcycle and haven't slept since Milwaukee. I showed up with there being rooms available only to be told different in person. The woman was extremely nice but this dude who still lives at home with a Walmart t shirt and flat brim hat (cool guy alert) was a jerk and kicked me out. It is raining, nighttime, and I asked to just sit in the lobby chair to call other hotels and look at the weather. He said no, then kicked me out.
I've stayed at literally hundreds of this chain's hotels before. Have done maybe in the range if 400+ stays at hotels in the last 2 years. Never have I had this happen where you aren't allowed to stay out of the rain to just call another place if your not a guest. I'm under a picnic table canopy down the street right after this happened to write this.
Would not stay here and will never stay here based off the rudeness of the employee alone.

Drove right by the entrance as not clearly marked. Had to park the RV behind the donut shop.not allowed in parking lot!
We drove all night and reserved a room. We arrived at 8 am and could not get our room until 1 pm at the earliest and 3 pm at the latest. We had to sleep in our car or lose the money we paid for the room. At least we didn't have to pay for that night.
Expensive for the quality plus a $75 deposit fee, at least the room was clean and easy to locate off the exit.
I found the quality of the place not in line with the price at 160 a night. You walk in to the place and can smell he overused cleaning products to cover up the dirty carpet. The room was sticky in several areas, the coffee maker barely worked, the breakfast was gross, the lotion bottel was used. That's a short list. Very disappointing. I found the staff nice. Too bad corporate thinks it is ok to charge high right for such low qaulity place.
Hotel was very friendly. Also very pet friendly and located close to Oneida lake and nature trails.
Cons= Expensive $$$ for the quality of room, limited amenities very dirty rooms. The Floors, the walls, the corners, curtains ect. Hard to sleep cause of the lack of cleanliness. But the bed sheets were clean at least. 75.00 deposit on top of room rate.
Pros= Pet friendly! Nice tvs, has fridge which is a bonus, Nice staff polite and friendly. The girl with glasses that checked me in around 9pm was so pretty and helpful.
Plenty of Parking even for 18 wheelers.
Easy exit on and off
Juice machine was not working. Waffle maker wasn't working or didn't have one at this location. There's not much around and was pretty expensive for what it was and where it's located.
The staff was very polite and helpful, and understanding about our infant situation. But the rooms are not good. I looked at 3 rooms and they all where not like the pictures and the 1st one was dirty, second was okay and the third was better but there was a barking dog next door and I decided on number 2. The floors were sticky. I took a shower before bed because I felt like I had sticky stuff all over my feet. They said they were updating well, and it needs a big makeover. The bed is on a hallow metal frame that makes noises when you sit on it.
This place was a dump! This hotel is in need of many repairs. The carpet was disgusting and the room was cheap! No chair to relax in or even a box of tissue. The check out clerk was nasty and rude and overcharged us. Pitching a tent would have been better!
$164 + $75 security deposit for one night. 1 star for the beds only. They appeared to be clean. Breakfast was cereals, milk and coffee only. Really small TV, remote barely working…The room and hall ways were disgusting for that price…enjoy the pics!
Dirty lazy room r nasty tub broke we had take own garbage out to dumpster. The coffee was burnt breakfast ha mini muffin
