Dear Irving Gramercy reviews
16 Cool setting and vibes and an extensive cocktail menu. I really loved the rum and papaya drink, was well balanced and was quite a big portion. Got in with 5 people with no wait at around 5: 30
on a Wednesday.
Fantastic atmosphere and delicious drinks! Service was fast and the waitresses were very friendly. They also gave us free macaroons and shots for a celebration! Definitely recommend coming here.
Sophisticated cocktail lounge with nice open floor seating, well-put decor, but a tad too bit expensive drinks that is best served for a low key spot to grab a drink with a group of friends. $20 a drink. 4/5 stars as a night spot.
Great cocktail bar with a speakeasy theme! Most of the seating area is lux couches and comfy chairs for groups around tables. The mood in the place is on point and the drinks match perfectly.
The cocktail list is pretty extensive but the bartenders are also more than happy to custom blend one to your liking.
The atmosphere is really great but the service was so rude it spoiled it. Our server had a really horrific attitude (I never say this, btw. I usually only complain about service if someone is actively mean to me).
Amazing drinks, boyfriend and I were able to snag 2 spots at the bar after a concert. We got some snacks and drinks and they were all super tasty and creative! We will return!
The lobster rolls are refreshing to get from a speakeasy of this caliber. I'll explain. I frequent a lot of speakeasies. They either excel in one or two categories but fail in others. No fault of their own. It is not an easy business. The irony in how they are marketed and advertise proves just that. Speakeasies to me is like the Olympics for bartenders. You really need to know how to mix a drink, carry a convo and set the tone for the room. For DI, the food, drinks and atmosphere are in sync. Everything is well thought out there. The seating area by the entrance have buttons by the seats so you could call your server over in way that's true to the nature of speakeasy culture. It gets crowded. Make a reservation. But I often got lucky by walking in or waiting 30-60mins. You could easily find something else to do in the area while you wait to be called. I might say this is my favorite speakeasy in city.
Absolutely loved the vibe!
It looks like a neighbourhood bar but def its a speakeasy.
Huge space inside, dim lit kids vibes and good drinks.
Gorgeous space and friendly, professional staff. The host was perfect and our server was attentive and very accommodating! Didn’t manage to catch her name but one of her fav cocktails is the Whiskey Business (a must-try). Speakeasies rarely hit the mark on both ambiance and service but this one is 5 stars. Thank you making our birthday evening so memorable!
Speakeasy vibe with plenty of seatings. The seatings are arranged in private groups along the venue.
The bar is located in the heart of the physical space.
Friendly staff and excellent service.
Would advice the manager (s) to work on the music though
Drinks 10/10
Great atmosphere.
Server had great reccomendations for each person in my party.
Staff and management are friendly and accomodating.
We will defintely be back soon!
I went back here with friends from out of town, and were sat in the front room. The service was slow and unfriendly, no smile and server seemed irritated to take our order. Waited 30mins for our drinks, which is too long. The cocktails were very good when they arrived and the snacks were acceptable. Not sure if I’ll be back based on this experience, but recommend you sit of as close to the bar as possible.
Very cozy and romantic cocktail bar with delicious drinks, discreet yet friendly staff, and a cozy, intimate setup. Ideal for a date. It's also perfectly located next to many delicious restaurants to make it a full evening.
Love this place! It’s super romantic to go on a date with dreamy decor. I didn’t want to leave. They have a little button you press when you want a waiter.
Do yourself a favor and skip the many unfounded negative reviews, this is one of the single best cocktail bars I have ever been to.
Dear Irving has a speakeasy vibe to it, a funky, dimly lit interior that feels exactly how you want it to. If you can, do yourself a favor and sit at the bar. Watch the bartenders work. Marvel at their brilliance. If it's not too busy, talk with them. Ask questions. They are happy to oblige and will likely educate you and let you try some new concoctions.
For us, despite the fact that our slippery glasses caused a spill or two, they couldn't have been friendlier on a busy holiday weekend, replacing our mishaps and offering suggestions for our next drinks.
The food is solid for snacking, but you're here for the drinks. The Deacon Blues was so good we actually came later in the night to have it again, as were the Xantolo and Whiskey Business.
If you're lucky enough to try it, it doesn't get much better than Dear Irving. And, uh, sorry for the spills!
