Deer park deli reviews
7The food, the drinks, the prices, and those who run the store from those who cook, clean, to those who serve everyone are very cool and friendly. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do.
I no longer live on Long Island so I'm unable to get food like this upstate, bonus I found queneapa's there as well. I had a medium plate of Spanish rice with beef and potatoes and bought the last bag of queneapa's they had and it was under $15 total, which is a great value in my opinion. The quality of the food was awesome. I can't wait to try more food there when I'm back visiting again. It was so hard to pick just one or two things to try.
Tried their baked chicken and veggies it was delish as well as another type of chicken again delish - clean establishment
It's true that things are expensive but they sell expensive food here.
It's under new management now and the food looks great better than before the other 2 owners
This is a Spanish influenced deli. Many authentic dishes served up as ordered from heated trays behind the counter. I'm not Spanish so I don't know the names of many of the dishes. I've had there roast chicken, I prefer dark meat but they have breast and wings also. The legs and thighs are tender and sweet. Better then any of the fast food chicken places on deer park Ave. There pork ribs are fall off the bone good. Don't be afraid of strange spices that you might not be used to. The chicken and ribs are not seasoned with anything not palatable to American taste.
Also had a cubed pork stew with potatoes and vegetables. Again not overly seasoned. Last time there I was walking out with my order of chicken and ribs and a guy came out of the kitchen with a gigantic pot. As he poured it into the serving tray I saw large lobster claws and clams in a yellow soupy gravy. Going to get that, what ever it is, over saffron rice next time I go. I'll try to remember to take pictures and post them.
Maybe today!
