Dentists' Office of The Hudson Valley reviews
15Worst office staff made me bring someone to a meeting before after stating that the surgery was going to be done. 3 months later half the surgery is complete. After a family member had passed out and was in the hospital for weeks after getting injured I called the morning of at 4 am after I had gotten the call. I reschedule and Dr. Eric Oh red flagged and said he wouldn’t finish and now because of his way he wanted to do it I now have 3 broken teeth.
Receptionist, Mary Jean, was very helpful and welcoming. She even dug into her purse to get my 89-year-old mother a special pen for her to use with her phone. Kudos to her! Dr. Stein was exceptional on his friendliness and demeanor. Thank you so much
Dr. O and his assisting staff are cracker jack. My experience was brief and thorough, eve.
Absolutely amazing, they are getting me taken care of before I have hip replacement surgery. Thank you for fitting me in
I'm very happy and comfortable with this dental off. Everyone is very friendly, place is very clean. I like that it's one-stop shopping so to speak as they can address all your dental needs.
Rude doctors especially the oral surgeon you miss one appointment and he will never see you again
The dentist office is always staffed with very competent dentists and dental hygienists. The support staff is also very efficient.
Dr. Oh is very professional. I needed to have a tooth extraction, and he was extremely skilled with the local anesthetic, and very quickly did the deed with a minimum of pain.
My regular dentist, who does not do oral surgery, thought there was some question about the adjacent tooth, because of the spreading infection under that tooth, as well, and said that it needed to be evaluated. Dr. Oh was going to remove that tooth, stating that the referral was to have both teeth removed. But the referral was to have them both evaluated, and not necessarily removing both of them. He did not tell me that, and was going to go ahead and remove both of them, saying that this was what needed to be done, according to the referral. That really bothered me. Then he told me that I could have it looked at by an endodontist to see if there was any way to save the second tooth. He should have told me that right up front, rather than telling me he was removing both teeth. If I didn’t question him, I am sure he would have gone ahead and done that, because that is what he said he was doing. I wouldn’t want to have a second tooth removed unnecessarily, and he did not initially present the Endodontist evaluation as an option until I pointed out to him that the recommendation did not say to remove both teeth. So I would see him again, but with great caution, because his treatment may be over aggressive.
I have been to many dentists in my life and this is by far the worst ever. My consultation appointment was rescheduled twice the day before and the procedure appointment was rescheduled three times. My dentist referred me for one thing and Dr. Baluster stated that I didn’t need that, but I should get the laser disinfecting. She was REALLY trying to sell me this. I agreed. Now several months later, I still need the procedure I originally went in for and now have to pay another periodontist for a consultation plus the procedure. I spoke with the Office Manager, Leslie on 10/06/22 regarding this. She was so rude and said she would talk to Dr. Balaster the next day and get back to me. Never did. I’ve left three messages since then for Leslie (with the receptionist Jill) and she never returned my calls, it is now 10/26. I also sent Dr. Balaster an email with no response. This office’s staff as well as Dr. Balaster are so unprofessional. Dr. Balaster is just trying to sell this laser procedure so you have to return back to the office every three months and pay more (scam). I was also never made aware that I’d be a lifelong periodontal patient after this procedure, which I didn’t even need. Go elsewhere!
Dr. Eric Oh was an amazing oral surgeon. I was very nervous getting my wisdom tooth pulled because of it being so close to the nerve, but surgery went very well with no complications. I would definitely recommend.
My wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant and has been having toothaches. We were told that there aren’t any emergency visits until next August. Already had to book this upcoming appointment 1 FULL YEAR in advance since that was all that was available. Pretty absurd.
Initial appointment with Dr.o was delightful! I took my husband to get his tooth removed today I cannot tell you how rude the staff were his appointment time was supposed to be at 3: 30 PM and they took him two hours late “due to a supposed gas leak” I don’t appreciate how you treat your patients. I don’t know the nurse who took care of my husband, but she was very rude and we will not be coming back here. To get another tooth pulled.
I understand that lots of places are still recovering from the pandemic, but not being able to schedule a routine cleaning for a year is inexcusable. The receptionist are very nice, but clearly overwhelmed. The excellent pediatric dentist recently left, and as of now I have no clue when my daughter will see a dentist there, but she is scheduled for her 6 month cleaning one year from now. Very disheartening that routine care is no longer able to be obtained.
The staff from the front desk to the Dentist’s/dental assistants are amazing! Very informative and make an effort to make sure you are comfortable and know what is going on step by step during every visit!? I would personally recommend this office to anyone and everyone
I’ve been coming here for years. First terrible experience. Christina is a horrible dental hygienist. I would never let her touch my mouth again. She is heavy handed and careless. I explained to her that I had a sensitive spot on my gum due to hitting it with my toothbrush while brushing. Instead of avoiding that tooth, she choose to clean it more aggressively there. Also, cutting my gums which are no where near my teeth. I was spitting blood up. Every year I go and never have I ever spit up blood. The lady that use to clean my teeth was not there.
