Dermatology Services at Mount Sinai Hospital reviews
6I arrived late to my appointment, but was accommodated within 40 minutes. Extremely friendly staff and Dr Ungar was 10/10. Would recommend to anybody.
I was a patient here years ago for excessive scarring. The doctor barley examined me or listened to me. To my surprise, despite biopsy records coming back completely normal, the doctor presumed his unfounded hunch was correct and prescribed a medication that was dangerous to take without nessessity. This caused damage to my immune and renal system. Long story short; be careful who you trust.
Front desk is rude, and they didn't even bother to bill my insurance. They just sent me a bill for a few hundreds dollars, marked as 'self pay' in the corner. Do you think I would provide insurance information AND double-check that it's in-network if I wanted to pay on my own? This kind of incompetence adds unnecessary stress to people's lives, and it wastes the time of everyone involved.
I’ve had good experiences with the doctors and practitioners in person, but the office is very disorganized. Their disorganization has regularly put me through phone tag hell.
Departments do not communicate between each other adequately and they have failed to refill my prescription after prescription refill appointments not once but twice in the last two years, resulting in painful weeks waiting for my medication. I will be seeking a new doctor to monitor my autoimmune disease and administer my refills.

Front desk was SO rude.
I’m trying to get help. I’ve already been diagnosed by a dermatologist that I had a very painful experience with. I do not want to continue being cut up over and over again when I have legitimate diagnosis from a doctor that uses this company for labs.
First she makes me feel like I can not afford to come. I’m choosing not to use my insurance. So I’m aware lease days it will cost me a great deal. She made me reply 6 times over and over again. That I could afford this 300-500 rate.
I called to get my records transferred so I could possibly have a better experience. Sadly I won’t get that chance. Because front desk tells me NO. Doctors will decide if they need records.
I feel so hurt and really saddened by this. All I want is to get healthier. Be healthy. Live longer.
I was wiling to travel over hundreds of miles to get some help like I assume was so special.
I was wrong.
