Des Ambassades reviews
14I only went to pastry shop for fruit tarts which was fresh. The wait to be served wasn't good maybe lacking employees?
Truly excellent and unique food. Highly recommend. Might want to pack cash in case their card reader is out.
Super inconsistent. I kept giving chances to this place but now that the dish I always get (dibi) is almost $30. It’s completely unacceptable to get burned lamb meat and hard as a rock uncooked rice.
TAKES FOR EVER TO SERVE, EXTREMELY RUDE, DOESNT RESPECT HERSELF, SERVES OTHERS BEFORE COMPLETING AN ORDER, TALKS TO ME LIKE I’M HER FRIEND, DOESNT KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG, ISNT DRESSED LIKE A WAITRESS AND OVER ALL JUST HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOOD IS DELICIOUS THOUGH.
Ordered a Yassa and my friend a Maffe the plate was generous but I've never tasted a Yassa so spicy in my life and yet nowhere in the menu it says that it has hot spices. When I asked the waiter to change the food his answer to me was we africans eat spices and you have never tasted African food before. An unnecessary comment.
Anyway he agreed finally to bring me a Shawarma that was also spicy as well, but still eatable. The funny part is that he wanted to charge the untouched Yassa. Until my friend explained to him that since if does not say that it is spicy in the menu that he was responsible.
Anyway I did not want to give a zero since he changed the meal but wanting to charge the Yassa was not very professional and not very representative of the Senegalese hospitality.
P. S the wifi address and password is not displayed in the restaurant you need to ask then the waiter enter it on your phone.
I try to be careful with bad reviews. But, this one should be mentioned. All around, bad service from miscommunication, no menus, the hostess seems out of a comic book. I hope they can get it together. It's such a promising place
Nice discovery during our holidays last January.
Good service but the waitress could have been a little more smiling.
Everything was tasty with very good portions.
I will go back there.

Came here for the first time. Was so excited to get a croque madame as it’s something I’ve been wanting. The sandwich was terrible. Fries undercooked and no salt. Egg over cooked when it’s meant to be runny. Asked for a new egg less cooked and got one even more cooked. They have a brunch menu posted outside but they don’t serve it. The nice thing they did was make me what I wanted despite them not serving breakfast but I wish they had just said no. My bill was $20. I left $40 cause I wanted change. Then they gave me back the $20 so I asked for change. They gave me all $5 and no singles so by default I had to over tip at 25% when I felt both food and service were not great.
That poulet yassa was delicious! The plantains were so good too.
The atmosphere was a little empty but loved the food.
I loved the food here. Especially the lamb maffe. Done service can be slow but take out was prompt. Definitely recommend trying
These guys have been around the neighborhood for some time. I usually get coffee with sandwiches or pastry from them, certain mornings. This morning was a turkey/cheese melted croissant, and a small latte.
You can't beat the prices, and the food is clearly made with loving attention in a full commissary of the establishment, serving both the counter shop & the dining room. This place is one of the reasons we should celebrate cultural exchange, because it drives the cuisine, such the amazing coffee. Often, you get some vibes often served alongside the food + bev.
They have a vegan menu. I’m not sure why they even bother. I came here with some people that ordered non vegan food. Their food looked fresh and well seasoned but with the vegan food it’s like they are not even trying. I ordered the COMOROS CURRY from their vegan section. They served me some frozen peas and carrots in curry sauce with some dry unseasoned couscous.
I’ve been going to this restaurant since it opened years ago. I never was completely happy with their service but their food is decent. The debe is good. I’m writing this review because the last year they have made changes to their fataya order that are disturbing. For once the order comes with four fatayas. Two weeks ago they changed the fatayas to three for $13. And today I bought the same order and it came only with two fatayas. I spoke to the clerk and he said that next time he will give me three. He said that there is new management and that they decided to make two bigger fatayas instead of three. When I ordered the fatayas they didn’t tell me the change until I seen the order myself. It’s disrespectful and wrong. I will not be returning there. I just wanted to use this platform to speak my mind and warn others
Of the instability of the place and the rudeness.
It's with a sad heart that I write the next review.
I was there from the opening day as I used to live next door but it didn't matter after I move an he away I still drove there for baguettes but this last time might have been my last time everything has changed including the smiles and the great baguettes nothing taste the same and the attitude of the workers is as tasteless as the goods they sale.
