7Enjoy indoor and outdoor dining at Desmond’s Restaurant located at East Wind’s hotel in Wading River, NY. Very pleased with the food and service. Prices compared to other restaurants are reasonable.
A group of us went to Desmond’s for the first time. I had made reservations ahead of time for a late lunch for 10. We arrived and was placed at a large round table which was great! Then we looked and there were dinner menus on the table. No one wanted dinner so we asked to waitress for lunch menus. She advised us that a group for a funeral doesn’t get the option for a lunch menu only dinner. We express our opinion on not being happy with that menu a few times and even advised this was not for a funeral. She said there was nothing she could. Needless to say, we were not happy with that decision. We were all looking forward to some burgers and sandwiches as we saw was available on the lunch menu. Food ended up being good, service was ok. Not sure I would go there again with a group of people.
Not a great burger at all the meat was weird. Baked clams were dry and bland. Creme brulee was on the menu but they didn't have it.they couldn't make a lemon drop martini they didn't have the right ingredients. Probably won't go back. Waitress wasn't that friendly.
We went on Valentines Day for their Prix Fix menu. Great service, food was perfect with surprisingly large portions and price was reasonable. Highly recommend!
First time at Desmonds. The drinks food and service were all exceptional. The baked clams are the best I've ever had!
More attention was paid to the washing dishes and trying to figure out how to use the register than to focus on us as the customer. Mistake made on quick drawer was finally acknowledged but no apology or acknowledgement. The food was very very good, there is a need to be more customer focused and to work on training.
