Dharma Yoga Center reviews
15I love Dharma Yoga Center NY! All of the instructors are knowledgeable and so friendly. The classes fly by. After my first experience I was hooked. Ive never felt so cleansed and fit. On top of everything else, the space and bathrooms are impeccably clean. YOU HAVE TO GIVE THIS PLACE SOME LOVE!
I can't say enough good things about this spot! Not only is their front desk team beyond welcoming and accommodating to first timers, but the studio is clean/decently sized/newly renovated & offers anything and everything you could need/want. (shower/towels/hair ties/face wash)
My girlfriend and I used our class pass to get in while I was visiting her. I'm certainly not new to yoga but I'm also not a yogi. This center was more than accommodating to a helping me with some of my form. When I'm in town, I will try this center out again. I liked the focus on my breath. Thank you Rashila for a great experience.
My flexibility, concentration and mindfulness have definitely improved since joining this studio. The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and professional; the studio is welcoming, clean, and has a great group of diverse practitioners. I've taken classes at different difficulty levels (beginner/intermediate/advanced), and with each class, instructors offered modifications/alternatives to poses to accommodated students of all levels. Truly a wonderful place.
Very authentic true yoga. I’ve been going here for 2 years now and I have nothing but positive things to say. Life changing studio️
Dharma Yoga is a truly beautiful, authentic yoga experience. What an honor to practice with yogi guru Sri Dharma Mittra! Thank you
This was a HORRIBLE experience. I bought a groupon, and was at the check in, showing the transaction from my bank on my phone, and they wouldn't let me enter the class. Not sufficient information. Doesn't seem very yoga like. I will never go there again. A wasted groupon
I love Pam and Carla’s classes. They’re both tough in such different ways it makes you want to keep coming back for their differing styles
I discovered Dharma Yoga Center because of my colleagues and via the Groupon app. I am SO in love with this center and all people there. The people and space is so warm and welcoming to all. The teachers are hands-on and informative. I recommend everyone come to Dharma, even If you have never practiced yoga before, it is an enlighteningnexperience! Thank you!
Great non-competitive yoga vibe with an awesome sense of community amongst the practitioners.i practiced AND did a teacher-training here and regardless of what i was there to do, my takeaways were one of the greatest I have ever had the honour to have.especially when I get to meet GURUJI Dharma. I truly look forward to my next visit here for this new year.
My experience at the Dharma Yoga Center was nothing short of life changing. I attended one of Sri Dharma's Maha Sadhana on April 14,2018, became a vegan that day and started to think about my advanced yoga teacher training. I had always learned the best yoga through my personal practice and from a book. My favorite yoga book was The Sivananda Companion to Yoga and I would practice out of that book. It turns out Sivananda was a well respected guru of Sri. Dharma Mittra's and so I was already learning some of his teachings. After 8 years of teaching yoga, I decided to participate in the Life of a Yogi 500 hour training. I knew I had found my teacher. Sri Dharma is funny, helpful in his adjustments and truly a guru. I never knew what a guru was until I practiced with Sri Dharma Mittra. He is truly the master and a loving, compassionate one at that. I always thought I had a really good heart, I would never intentionally hurt anyone, but he has shown me that my loving heart has such a great capacity. I love myself more, I'm better in my personal relationships and I wish all the world to be at peace. If you are a seeker, if you love the yoga practice or just want to get started, you needn't look further than this beautiful oasis in the middle of NYC.
Everyone is great love the girls at the front desk and the practice is beautiful. Definitely try this studio out.
Peace, Love & Light
Mohawk has created an experience that is just plain right. There is a feel of positive energy the moment one enters the studio. It has a very calming effect that prepares you for the session. The instructors are personable and very helpful and do make it a point to assist newbies.
Very nice place for beginners and experts. Staff and teachers are very nice. Some classroom is a bit too small. No complaint other that that.
One of the first books on yoga I came across was the “Asanas - 608 Yoga Poses” by Sri Dharma Mittra, which I found very inspiring and still page through on a regular basis. A couple of years later (back in 2015) I was ready to enrol in the 200-hour teacher training program at the Dharma Yoga NY Center. What followed was an extremely intense and thrilling set of 10 days, that significantly deepened my understanding of yoga and took my asana practice to the next level. It was an experience of a lifetime to study with a living legend and his senior teachers. Dharma’s piecefulness, ease and humor are contagious. Make sure to visit Dharma’s temple, if you are looking for an authentic, truly inspiring experience.
