Di Fara Pizza reviews
19Absolutely delicious. I got a grandma slice and the cheese was almost caramelized and the crust was perfect and almost flaky like a pastry. Truly one of a kind and one of the best! They are doing take out only at the moment and I will definitely be back.
We ordered ahead with Slice App since we live about 25 minutes away. It was hot and ready when we got there so we ate it on the bench just outside of the window. It had just the right amount or char and lives up to its Barstool review!
I love DiFara…but their integrity has slipped (potentially).
Recently, I ordered a pie to go and I was given a Frankenstein-Pizza. It was not a coherent pie. Some slices were hot, others were cold and I can only assume they originated from 3 different pies.
I usually love DiFara but this has me upset. Maybe, this should be written into NYC law: when you order a pie, you should receive one (1) freshly made, entire pie.
Brooklyn local who have had this pizza multiple time. Wait time used to be hour or so long with Dom the only person making the pizza. Today Ordered at the window, 25 mins wait on a Tuesday afternoon. Dom wasn't working (did he retire?) but pizza is still pretty good. Although I was expecting a bit more fresh basil on it like the way Dom would cut it with a scissor!
Currently No dine in, so find a spot nearby to put this steamy hot pizza down to eat right away. 10 mins later this pizza isn't going to be as delicious. $30 for a regular pie (additional $1 for each topping) but can get slices for $5. They accept credit card.
I used to eat here 40 years ago Pizza was good people were friendly. Even 15 years ago it was good. Zagat writes a review and that justifies charging 2 times the price of a slice? And i get 3 little clips of basil? To be honest Jerusalem 2 Pizza 2 blocks away is a third of the price. The pizza is just as good. Go ahead wait on line, try a slice, and honestly ask yourself if this is better than grimaldi or J 2, or even Pronto which is really good or planet pizza in norwalk ct
The main issue here is there is no consistency Sometimes its good sometimes not.
As a New Yorker, I have eaten very good (and very bad pizza) throughout the boroughs over the last half century. The slices here are large and filling. It is good pizza, but not spectacular. Personally, I will never wait two hours on line to pay $5 for a slice when there are dozens of other top notch pizza options in Brooklyn. Price and hype doesn't always equate to greatness.
Always felt that this was the best round slice in Brooklyn, or at least when Dom was shuffling along. Sure, you could sometimes wait a while, but the pizza was so good you didn't care. It was part of the experience; acceptance. The ingredients made the slice though, and the crust tied it together. Everything, from what I recall, was imported from Italy.
The crust and sauce is so perfect. Accurate amount of sauce and the crust was just thick enough. There wasn't enough cheese for the amount of toppings.lThat's my only complaint but the flavors were on point. I ordered one slice w meatball. The meat is so flavorful. My other slice was pepperoni and it's the best small, juicy, salty and thick slices of pepperoni! Get the extra garlic powder and peppers at the counter. I ate it while it was piping hot.
The wait was a lil longer than I was told and expected (22 minutes).
I would try it again and order extra cheese.
Perfect crunchy crust. Sauce was OK, not great. Current wait is about 30 mins for a pie. $5/slice - $30/pie, a tad overpriced. Tried once n done.
Overrated. No pizza is worth that much money. The ingredients to make a pizza
Cost pennies. Water, flour, Salt, Sauce and mozzarella cheese. That's all
I came here, because they are famous! I don't think paying $5 for a slice is fair! But it was good though!
At $5 a slice, this pizza is mediocre at best. For an institution, this place definitely lacks neighborhood vibe, cashier was not friendly. Avoid this trap. There are better pizzas in NYC.
A magically delicious pizza experience. Fresh basil? He snipped it right in front of us! A must visit.
Looks ok. Tastes ok. Not great. But for $5 a Slice? $30 a pie? Way better options out there. This place is always on some list for great pizza. Why? These magazines and Newpapers opinions are worthless.
Very good Pizza. The place is over priced, overrated and not clean. There's outstanding Pizza at several places in Bklyn.
I'm not a New Yorker, so take this with a grain of salt, but this was easily the best NY-style pizza I've had (and I've had plenty of slices around the city over the years). The only downside is the lack of a place to sit and eat but I can't fault them for closing their dining room during Covid.
I'm going to be completely honest with you, okay? It was rather good. There was a very long wait but that speaks to nothing more than the extreme popularity of the location. In fact, an older gentleman walked by and asked us if this place was really that good. I told him the truth, which is that I'd never been there before, but it certainly smelled good. Keep in mind, I'm not very picky when it comes to Pizza. I would have been perfectly satisfied with some Little Caesars. I can't let that fact allow me to disparage this place though. It was in a cool part of town where there was lots of stuff written in Hebrew or something and that was neat in and of itself. Good times. Four out of five because there was stinky trash right outside the building.
Probably the best pizza I have had in the street. Expect to pay 5 bucks a slice or 30 a pie. Just cheese and basil. Extra costas more
I always wanted to try pizza from this place since I was a kid. Amazing slice of pizza I had from Di Fara Pizza and its been a while since I tried a pizza this good and it brings back childhood memories. The flavor, smell, and taste is very rare and it's hard to find. $5 for a slice of pizza is too much if you ask me.
